Unlike most FReepers I can’t predict the future worth a damn. But here’s what seems likely: The dems have been going crazy when they’re out of power, so now that they’ve won control of the House they’re going to over-reach and blow it just like they did after Obama won. The difference is now they won’t be able to get their crazy ideas thru the Senate and the next election will be clearly focused on Trump. So they have to decide, do they try to work with Republicans to actually govern, or will they double done on impeachment and investigations?

My bet is the latter, they are just too pissed off and too emotional about Trump not to. But it will cause a rift in the D party, some of them will pull away from the likes of Mad Maxine because they know there’s another election in 2 years. The “safe” ones will want to put the pedal to the metal and hopefully it will tear the party apart now that the “democrat-socialist” faction has a toehold.

All while the chorus line of 30 or more candidates starts to vie for the 2020 D nomination and the investigations of Democrat corruption continue to unfold.

It will be an entertaining 2 years to say the least.

If the Dems really wanted to defang Trump
They would just leave him alone
Trump is a counterpuncher, and thrives on conflict
I suspect if the conflict went away,
He would get bored, and find something else to do

The Dems are just feeding the President raw meat and he loves it

I kinda agree...there are three paths going on with the Democrats presently. First, the quit-now crowd who’ve started walking out in the past two years. Second, the crowd who will ask what they’ve accomplished from 1 January 2019 to summer 2020, and determine they’ve wasted 18 months doing virtually nothing...deciding upon a vote for the Green Party in 2020. Third, the eternal crowd, who will stay on for better or worse.
