The anonymous New York Times op-ed piece trashing Trump sent Democratic hopes soaring.
The loyal opposition prayed the story would steel the spines of Republican bigwigs to speak truth to power and finally fess up that the emperor has no duds.
Instead, White House insiders are falling all over themselves to deny authorship. Mitch McConnell, Paul Ryan and the rest of the GOP brass are still aboard the Trump clown car.
The root of the problem is the presidents amorality, warned the unnamed author, who claimed to work for the president and allying himself or herself with like-minded colleagues to thwart parts of his agenda and his worst inclinations.
Sorry, Democrats, hogs will fly before this GOP will ever dump Trump.
In a recent tweet, Rep. Eric Swalwall put the blame for Trumps crazytown White House squarely where it belongs: at the feet of a GOP Congresss absolute failure to check the President. Because lawmakers wont check him cowardly aides who wont speak up publicly have gone rogue.
The fact that theyincluding the tell-all-but-his-or-her-name Times guest columnistare too timid to tell who they are should give Democrats pause. Theyre hardly examples of profiles-in-courage.
Meanwhile, a slew of Never Trumpers has switched to independent. Most of his Republican House and Senate critics are opting against additional terms.
Whats left is a party of Ever Trumpers. I know. I live in western Kentucky, Trump country where white folks still dote on The Donald.
Trump isnt dividing the GOP. His policies have forged a white quadruple alliance of plutocrats, George Babbitts, neo-Confederate yahoos and Christians of the Jesus-loves-me-but-He-cant-stand-you-persuasion.
Theyre not about to derail their gravy train with Trump at the throttle.
Oh, the big-city fat cats and the small-town bougies might wince at the presidents publicly boorish bigotry, but only because they think its bad for business and makes them look bad, to boot.
By themselves, more than a few yacht clubbersand Republicans who live in Middle Americas real Zenithsspew varying degrees of racism, sexism, misogyny, xenophobia and homophobia while making fun of the red-capped rubes who whoop and holler at Trump rallies.
Upper-class and upper-middle-class Republicans will stick with the president because hes delivering the goods for them. Hes cutting their taxes (and his). Hes busting unions.
Hes slashing government regulations that cost business owners, big and small, money by compelling them to make their workplaces safer and the environment tidier and forcing them to protect consumers against shoddy and even dangerous products.
Old-fashioned, greed-is-good Social Darwinism is back. Okay, it never left with Nixon, Reagan and Bush I and II.
Simultaneously, latter-day Johnny Rebs are clinging like grim death to their Great White Hope. Trumps a Yankee from New York City. But his hearts in Dixie where hes taking his stand for reprising white supremacy. Jeff Davis, Nathan Bedford Forrest, Bilbo, and Big Jim Eastland would love the guy David Duke loves.
Its no coincidence that deepest Trumpistan is the old Confederacyand some border state sections like my neck of the woods. Hereabouts, racial and religious prejudice jibe like white beans and cornbread. Trump is the rock upon which churches of the praise-Jesus-and-vote-Republican gospel is preached.
I hope Im wrong. But Id bet next months Social Security check that Trumps quadripartite GOP will weather this latest storm. Unfazed will be the tycoons, the local chamber of commerce movers-and-shakers, the Sons of Confederate Veterans and the faithful who warm the pews in houses of worship where liberalism is equated with Old Scratch himself.
Trump is the GOPs man for all seasons, the Koch sibs, Steve King, Roy Moore and Franklin Graham all-in-one. Theres no way the Republicans will forsake such a president whos everything to everybody in their party, which looks more like the party of Jeff Davis than of Abe Lincoln.

in Montana, Trump said he believed it was a female.
NYT claims they got the op-ed via an intermediary?
I think this anonymous character is pure fiction. Just something that is part of a coordinated effort to bolster the left using the 25th amendment when all else fails.
So THAT’S what’s wrong with him.
“Trump isnt dividing the GOP. His policies have forged a white quadruple alliance of plutocrats, George Babbitts, neo-Confederate yahoos and Christians of the Jesus-loves-me-but-He-cant-stand-you-persuasion.”
That seems like a fair and balanced political assessment of Trump supporters. These people are deranged.
Berry pretty much covers every Leftist cliche and talking point. Ill bet that he has a closet full of dresses.
in Montana, Trump said he believed it was a female.

Probably a girly-man.
Exactly. This story, this “source” is just too perfect, fits in too well with the leftist agenda and message. So perfectly in fact it is almost certainly made up by these very leftist deep state {expletives}....
He’s also a blithering idiot!
...The loyal opposition prayed...
Two lies at just the beginning of one sentence.
. . . and yet - such hate. I feel sorry for him, actually. Some people just dont take to all this Winning very well

Remember the cycle:
Invent a crime Trump did.
Leak some phony info.
Wait for the Fake News Article to publish.
Get a warrant based off the warrant.
Hate when I hit the wrong button.

Repeat until can find something to impeach or make it look like he is off his rockers
More likely that people in the middle will see this as yet another unfair attack and sympathize with POTUS Trump.

Anonymous is not a bonafide Republican. No real Republican would go to the New York Times.
Notice how when these progressives wax they always say the same thing about southerners the south hating brigade here on this forum does.....coincidence Im sure
You mean like this?:
Simultaneously, latter-day Johnny Rebs are clinging like grim death to their Great White Hope. Trumps a Yankee from New York City. But his hearts in Dixie where hes taking his stand for reprising white supremacy. Jeff Davis, Nathan Bedford Forrest, Bilbo, and Big Jim Eastland would love the guy David Duke loves.
Yeah, it sounds just like the usual suspects here who descend on Dixie threads in order to pour excrement on the heads of Southrons. Coincidence, I'm sure! (snort)
Maybe it just means yankeefa is a Big Tent. Plenty of hating of the South to go around. The Progs and whatever they are here can get together and party as the statues get pulled down. Curry will be served
Right. And she emerged because they’re terrified of losing Roe.
“Mitch McConnell, Paul Ryan and the rest of the GOP brass are still aboard the Trump clown car. “
LOL
“Trump isnt dividing the GOP. His policies have forged a white quadruple alliance of plutocrats, George Babbitts, neo-Confederate yahoos and Christians of the Jesus-loves-me-but-He-cant-stand-you-persuasion. “
This Dingbat still doesn’t know the “Trump supporters are all racists” line isn’t working.
How deep inside of your bubble can you reside?
Apparently in DC the circle-jerk of TrumpHate is impenetrable.
Well, just golly gee. I don’t care what the left thinks of me.
If they want to worry about what I think of them, I won’t try to stop them, of course.
