Its a given that political candidates will target each other with as much oppositional propaganda as they can get away with. But with the Kremlin now playing a third-party shadow role in U.S. elections, the usual game seems to be shifting from blood sport to cold war.
Given Russias well-established preference for Donald Trump over Hillary Clinton in 2016, its possible, if not likely, that the next round of election meddling will be geared toward keeping the Republican majorities in the House and Senate.
For Democrats, this added pressure from Russia could begin to feel like a threat. Imagine believing that youre not only running against a Republican but also against a former KGB agent who seems to be in cahoots with your very own president.
What else should one think?
During a rally Thursday in Wilkes-Barre Twp., Trump once again referred to special counsel Robert Muellers investigation as the Russian hoax. This occurred amid the intelligence communitys stepped-up warnings about new Russian interference. Lets not forget the 12 Russians whom Mueller indicted last month for hacking Democratic Party computer networks.
Mueller is not generally known as a hoaxer.
But Trump remains the slick salesman, entertainer and pot stirrer hes always been. Just hours before his stick-it-to-em jamboree, press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders and several national intelligence officials convened a media briefing to address Russian attempts to impact the midterm elections.
That is, with a slight modification. Sanders assured media that the administration will not tolerate foreign interference in our elections from any nation-state or other dangerous actor, clearly indicating that the focus would not be only on Russia....

What does she call the dopes who elected a guy named Hussein?
She admittedly voted for Hussein twice.
How do we know that Putin didn’t favor Hillary more? He had 33,000 classified emails of hers. Pure blackmail. Right there you are FAKE news Kathleen.
That she and the Compost pretend that she is a Conservative is offensive.
Hi
The premise...”Given Russias well-established preference for Donald Trump over Hillary Clinton”
Is false because it is not provable by the preponderance of the evidence.

FAKE NEWS
WTF???
"Well-established"???
Bullsnot!
In the Carter Page FISA application, none other than James Clapper claimed that the Russians had intervened in American elections since the 1960’s.
I wonder which candidate for President the Russians favoured in 1960, in 1964, in 1972, in 1980, 1984 and 1988, in 1992, in 1996, in 2000, in 2004, 2008, 2012 ?
From the article: “ Imagine believing that youre not only running against a Republican but also against a former KGB agent who seems to be in cahoots with your very own president.”
Remind me. Which President assured the Russian leader that “I will have more flexibility after I’m re-elected”.
If the Russians preferred Trump, why did they give all the money to Clinton?
confusing thick with solid?
Thick is a dimensional description. Solid indicates strength.
We are solid, not necessarily thick.
How can someone be so stupid?
Remember Ted Kennedy wrote to the Soviets asking them to cooperate so as to give (D) help in the upcoming election.
Pure globaloney!! If Putin really prefers going toe-to-toe with the toughminded Donald Trump over discombulated harridan Hillary, then he’s got a screw loose!
On the other hand, if Putin’s real purpose was to degrade voter confidence in the integrity of the American electoral system, he may have partially succeeded, but only among the leftwing nutballs.
“Given Russias well-established preference for Donald Trump over Hillary Clinton in 2016....”
Well established? By whom? Russia, if anything would have MUCH preferred to deal with Herself, whom they KNEW they could roll over with impunity, rather than Donald Trump, already known as a hard-edged dealer. I am sure the Russians had thoroughly studied Trump’s book, “Art of the Deal” long before he was actually elected to the Presidency, and their only objective in meddling in the US elections was to sow chaos and doubt as to the outcome, not that they favored one candidate over the other. Whichever candidate won, would always have this shadow following him (or her) around, was the election legitimate or not?
At that, I would say they were highly successful. But as to making things easier for themselves, not so good.
And why did Russian agents help with the Steele dossier?
And many other such proofs.
