“Soldiers will NOT go along with an illegal coup”

I beg to differ. There are plenty of leftist soldiers within out military. They are probably evenly scattered about, but good planning by a leftist upper staff can identify those much the same way Hitler’s SS guys were ID’d as unswervingly loyal to him. A leftist combat unit could be made of such traitors. With support from the FBI and other alphabet agencies, such unit could disable the government. Arrest the president and all of those in congress loyal to the Constitution. The press would help out with a total news blackout. The internet could likewise be disabled along with other communications while this is going on.

In effect, DC and the entire government would be under full leftist control.

The whole problem with this scenario, once the rest of America realized what happened, there would be all out civil war. Imagine an air force base loyal to the Constitution bombing the hell out of Washington DC in support of a loyal infantry division trying to retake it, with militia groups supporting the retake.

Imagine, just like in a 3rd world country, where the loyalists retook DC and have the insurgents hanging from light poles.

From my observations at Fort Knox over the past 10 years, most of the Army’s officer corps is pretty left wing. Almost all the flag officers are and a good majority of the field grade and company grads. If they aren’t, they get bad efficiency reports.

They’d have the troops light up civilians in a heartbeat.
