In President Donald Trumps first Thanksgiving in the White House, the Pilgrims are expendable and so is the medias dignity.
Clad in cheerful holiday red, his press secretary, Sarah Huckabee Sanders, walked up to the White House press corps podium Monday and ran through the reasons shes thankful this Thanksgiving.
Her list was basically a rundown of President Trumps so-called law and order and America First policies, and she thanked the protagonists tasked with defending the country, our borders and our streets.
The moment might have gone down as another superficial delivery of rhetoric versus substance, but then Sanders did something none of us have seen in decades of practicing journalism.
She literally strong-armed White House reporters into marking the holiday, too.
She would not take questions, she said, unless reporters listed what theyre thankful for this season.
She wasnt kidding....

My paternal forebears arrived in Philadelphia in November 1750, from Swtzerland. First they had to swear allegiance to King George III. Then Grandpa Hans received Warrent Rights to 50 acres of land in York Township, York County, PA from the Penns. And the rest is history.
Congratulations. That makes us both the same thing: natural born citizens of these United States.
Be cause they feel like she is treating them like children, which is exactly how they behave.
Fabiola's wrong. It started out as 'anti-illegal' - had nothing to do with legal immigrants. But now it's morphing into that as we hear from people like Fabiola - an idiot who's under the impression that an advertising jingo placed on the Statue of Liberty to solicit donations for the Statue Fund IS our Constitution.
We ARE a nation of legal immigrants. WE ARE NOT A NATION OF ILLEGALS. WE ARE NOT A NATION OF PISSED OFF INGRATES EITHER.
Illegals are NOT Immigrants.
Thieves are NOT house guests.
Street drug pushers are NOT pharmacists.
Grow up Fabiola... our country bends over backwards to be fair - to you - to your parents - to the legal people we accept as citizens.
YOU Faviola DO NOT HAVE THE RIGHT TO INVITE ILLEGALS INTO OUR HOME.
Hogwash! Absolute and utter spittle from the tripe’s mouth. When she came to this country she, like so many others, would not have cared to who the person was in the Presidency. The USA is a dream for many who live outside its hallow walls that to put feet on American soil is a dream come true for so many. Half of them wouldn’t care if the Easter Bunny was President versus Santa Claus as President. I choose Santa because his gifts are so much better! /s
And how many Indians died so your invader ancestors could enjoy that fifty acres free of its original owners? I’ll bet you’ll be celebrating that conquerors’ holiday called Thanksgiving.
(JUST KIDDING!!!!!!)
;^)
Cecilia Vega was born in San Francisco. So what does that mean?
How dare she ask them to get in the spirit of a national holiday. She literally strong-armed White House reporters into marking the holiday, too.She would not take questions, she said, unless reporters listed what theyre thankful for this season.
They should be grateful to her for her insistence:The Key to Unhappiness - Denis Prager (5½minutes, and worth every second)
Things were pretty well tamed in York County, PA by the time Hans and Anna arrived. They were farmers. Several of their offspring, several generations before me built grist mills with water wheels and ground grain for the locals. Only the foundation of one of them remains.
She should be thankful that the United States has always been so welcoming to those from other, perhaps unsafe and/or dangerous, shores, including those that she departed.
Sanders was brilliant to make the press corp uncomfortable. It was really cheesy and I loved it.
When you open and close the HTML tags
And take every other America hating pig with you. (Not you Post 5203)
As a kid I was fascinated by mill wheels. In rural northern Virginia there were many grist mills including George Washington’s. Most were in ruins but if we passed one I would beg Dad to stop the car.
These were all the undershot kind. The mill races were often still full of stagnant water & Dad warned me not to get too close. One was to me as big as a Ferris wheel. IIRC it was iron & outlasted the others. The streams which powered these mills were lined with limestone, more like aqueducts.
Maybe if he had been president scumbags
Would not be allowed.
