The Push
My brains | Today | Me, Dammit

Posted on 10/25/2017 12:03:16 AM PDT by 1_Inch_Group

The final push.

Claim at the VA was denied, BUT.....

I did get what I wanted. They formally noted that my previously undiagnosed illness that I applied for was now known as XXXXXdisease.

I have a specialist at the VA that had noted in my record that XXXXXdisease "as likely as not" started while in service.

VA returned no evidence, but changed undiagnosed illness to XXXXdisease.

Am I reading something into this? It seems like they agree...but need me to add more.

So I've got witness statements. Family, friends, and potential love interests. All of which have been pushed away by symptoms of XXXXXdisease.

What else should I concentrate on? This is the last push. They deny this one, I have to start all over. Suggestions from those that have been there?

Thank you, continue smoking.

What I said, above. It's not an excerpt....and I'm too lazy to cut paste windows.

Go to WebMD or similar sites.
Look through the list of all symptoms associated with your condition.
List all of those that you have experienced.
If you can get others to verify that they have seen you suffering from those symptoms then that would be even more evidence.
It might be good to talk to several people. For each person have an informal conversation with them describing to you ways they know you have the condition, e.g. symptoms, specific instances, what they saw/heard, etc. Then write up what they told you in a formal way. Have them read it and have it signed and notarized.

The only thing the bureaucrats respect more than regulations is paperwork. Being able to hand them a manila folder filled with notarized confirmations of your condition would be hard for them to ignore.

I do have concerns about the vaccines we were given before deployment to the sandbox. If the vaccines turn out to be something that caused problems, I assume that there will be no admission for decades.

That said, been dealing with this since my deployment in the early 1990s. Only now is it at a point that it’s requiring surgery to treat.

Best part is....as an undiagnosed skin disorder it’s automatically accepted as being related to gulf service. Now that I have a diagnosis...I need to prove service connection. Talk about bullspit...

Heard that the VA takes witness statements as seriously as victim witness statements in court. Have about half a dozen multiple page accounts of how much of a PITA I am to deal with since the military.

Yep.

And folks who got vaccinated but didn't deploy are double plus SOL.

Still, I found Matsumoto's book to be quite informative.

So did my wife.

"The Cause: Although speculation on the roots of this dilemma ranged from pesticides and burning oil wells to undetected Iraqi nerve gases, it appears that American troops are the only ones suffering.
The ailment is largely unheard of in British, Canadian, Saudi, and Iraqi soldiers.(113)
Even though the media refrained from implicating vaccines as a potential cause, it awoke the country to a national dilemma:
how to support our vets who unquestionably served their country."

Good luck. Life goes on.

Contact your local county VSO. Mine has been a great help!

Also, the DAV and other veterans associations may be able to point you in the right direction and offer experienced support.

There are people out there who really wanna help.
Some of them are even in the "evil VA" system. d;^)

Just like a lot of places, ya hafta get the right peeps on the case. And some "persistence at the speed of .gov" will also help. These things generally require "x" amount of user input.
Good luck to you, sir. d:^)

My ex-wife also had a number of miscarriages. She lived with me there, and got all the shots I did.

Makes you think, huh?
