There are suppose to be checks and balances. It appears that the FBI doesn’t want to be accountable to anyone, the President, Congressional oversight, or even the FISA courts.
It is time to set the FBI director down and tell him to either be accountable to Congressional oversight or the swamp will be drained and the FBI budget will be cut by 30%. Then let him go home and explain that to his peers in the Deep State.
These people know that the House committee will pontificate about it, but ultimately will do nothing. They have nothing to fear.

Congress created the Department of Justice, Congress has oversight authority over its creations.
The FBI does not get to choose which Congressional committee has oversight, ALL of Congress has oversight. The FBI has rejected Congress’ authority.
Issue a subpoena, if it is not complied with then find them in contempt and imprison them.
