Yes I think the 1964 civil rights act was a reach too far and opened the door to the grievance industries and destroyed freedom of association and ushered in affirmative action and racial quotas
And led to folks being forced to support gay marriage in their businesses and so forth
It was the impetus of the entire civil right shakedown industry we all suffer from now
Which is why William Buckley and Goldwater and Reagan all opposed it
But I guess you the all knowing racially sensitive yankee know better
If your homey texas gator agrees with all that after his dilletante search of your south bashing heritage here then maybe I was wrong about him and you two deserve each other
And btw for your info....I was in contact with daughter of bnblflag after his stroke and before he died shortly afterwards but i suppose i should be grateful anyhow considering you took the time
He was a bank president in SE Texas with a loving family who detested how on a conservative forum folks like you and your gang wage war on southerners here wishing to demonize and destroy our heritage for your own personal vendetta that you are too big a coward to admit
I never forget you guys..you can count on that
Your a much smaller bunch than before but maybe gator can add to your roster
Maybe not
Sonny.
Well you're entitled to your opinion... but that doesn't mean that conservatives today have to agree with your segregationist views...or that by not agreeing with them that person is somehow transformed into an evil liberal.
Which is why William Buckley and Goldwater and Reagan all opposed it
Not only do you misrepresent the political and rhetorical positions these men once took but you do them further disservice by failing to acknowledge the depth, nuance and evolution of their view points on segregation and civil rights.

RIP...and you're welcome...but you're dead wrong about this 'war on southerners' stuff and your smear tactics in this regard today strike me as petty, churlish and a rather poor excuse to hide behind during argument (which you will lose ) on a completely different subject.
You are exactly right in that observation - And as long as some are more equal than others, America will continue to devolve. 'Civil Rights' is the main lever being used to tear American society apart.
