“Lets here it for North Carolina marksmanship.”
Let’s HEAR it for literacy. Harvard grad? Why would you be snarky about a man being killed by friendly fire in the commission of his duty during a time of war. Liberal?
NC troops also accidently shot General Longstreet.
Oh yes, well, it happens in war.
Colonel Bendix’s 7th New York Volunteer Infantry opened fire on Colonel Frederick Townsend’s 3rd New York Volunteer Infantry Regiment, thought the Confederates were behind his regiment as well as in front and ordered his men to fire upon Townsend’s men. To the dismay of all, it was soon discovered that Bendix had opened fire on another New York regiment and the commanding general’s party with both muskets and an artillery piece, that casualties of 21 wounded (two mortally) were inflicted on the 3rd New York Infantry and dozens of other men from the 3rd New York Infantry ran from the field.
The Yankees not only misidentified an entire regiment, but they ran away from themselves. So what? It was a bloody, confusing mess. Not something to celebrate, you idiot.
I'll be sure to remember that the next time a lost cause freeper posts images of dead union soldiers, or cheers the killing of union troops or celebrates the murder of Abraham Lincoln.
Because the South was right, as always.
Well, not really - but I appreciate your partisanship.
“I’ll be sure to remember that the next time a lost cause freeper posts images of dead union soldiers, or cheers the killing of union troops or celebrates the murder of Abraham Lincoln.”
Yeah, because this is the same thing right? Moral equivalency too? Your left wing is showing, bud.
No it isn’t the same. It’s way worse. But it is typical of what we see from the lost causers and so customary that X Fretensis’s comment isn’t out of line in the least.
Left wing? No thank. We get enough from the lost causers.
Lost Causer? People still say that?
Brush your tooth and go to bed, young man.
It’s late. It’ll be dark soon.
Yea, OK gramps ;’)
Heh heh heh.
Confederate ping....
