I wasn’t complaining....I only pinged the RM because I defended y’all. I am not among those who question the motives or fairness of the job you do because I respect you too much. I think the guidelines for OPEN RF threads are clear and unambiguous so no one has any excuse for stumbling into one and being offended. Thank you, I know it’s not an easy job.
Thank you for your support.
We can only pray everyone will keep blasphemy out of these conversations.
Lousy theology tends to ascribe more power to earthly things than they really have. Original sin takes people to hell. It can also take people to worldly forms of religion. But the worldly forms of religion are not the root of the rift between men and God.
d—n straight (duckn & runn’n!)
fix your eyes on God. then relax, a bit
How do you know?
Because anyone who takes the time to trace it calmly through the bible will see it as obvious.
Those who get pulled aside easily by critical remarks will find themselves damning this or that or the other seeming proxy. It can get pretty ridiculous, like preachers telling women that lipstick will send them to hell.
Taking the Christian doctrine as a matter of life and death is quite characteristic of Christians of all persuasions. While I don't like Catholicism insulted, I respect the passion behind it.
On occasion I have similar lapses myself.
I didn’t *give up* Jesus. I found him and He now dwells in my hearth by faith.
Please show us the word eucharist in Scripture and where Jesus told us to worship it. Show us where we are commanded to go somewhere to meet and eat Jesus.
Sounds like blackmail to me.
If someone won’t do what you want, you’ll hold them hostage to your finances.
Now THAT’s real Christ like character, isn’t it? (is the /s label really needed)
Life is too short and far too precious to get sucked into petty arguements {guilty myself of it too many times}.
Life is so very precious indeed. None of us know when GOD will require our soul. When the time comes that my life is in the balance I'd want any/all believers prayer as we should do.
I've been off forum for two weeks for some very heart breaking family crisis One has departed this world and another I've been told is likely also. Heartbreaking news but still having the assurances of GOD's Promise and the knowledge those I love will one day be united with.
I'm looking across a small room where I'm watching my world as I've known it for 29 years possibly change to a place I don't want to go. All that matters to me most in the world is hanging in the balance of breath assisted by mans technology and best efforts trying to continue life and healing. I don't want to loose her. But the doctors have to be honest in their assessments and give family all the news good and bad.
My neighbor is a Charasmatic preacher as well as a friend and yesterday I know his flock was praying for my beloved bride. I don't see eye to eye with him on some theology issues but I don't have too understand that because he's my neighbor and fellow brother in Christ. I don't need to convert believers. Christ didn't say to do that. I got way too many faults and inperfections of my own to deal with.
You say your agnostic but you read these threads? Read The Bible istead starting with the book of John and your time is far better spent. Let GOD answer your questions and doubts. Pray and He will hear and He is sure to answer. It doesn't matter what you or others think of Baptist, Catholics, Methodist, etc. What matters is what you choose to do and say with The Lord.
Gotta Go.
Jesus told us what is required, and that is believing in Him.
John 5:24 Truly, truly, I say to you, whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life. He does not come into judgment, but has passed from death to life.
John 6:40 For this is the will of my Father, that everyone who looks on the Son and believes in him should have eternal life, and I will raise him up on the last day.
John 11:25-26 Jesus said to her, I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me, though he die, yet shall he live, and everyone who lives and believes in me shall never die. Do you believe this?
Yes, we will find out at the Judgment seat of Christ how we lived our lives, but that is for believers, those who are already saved and at there for the rewards for their works.
Unbelievers are faced with the final judgment and there their works will condemn them.
But this is not about Salvation. This is about the comment that was made that non-Catholics are pushing their denomination.
I would still like to know where some non-Catholic has ever demanded that everyone to convert their church. I don't see non-Catholics pushing denominationalism. I see Catholics doing that as I stated before for the reasons given before.
I have yet to see any of the *Protestant* statements of faith that claim to be the one true church and that *There is no salvation outside the Catholic __________ church* as the RCC in its arrogance claims.
Darkness hates the light and tries to quench it.
Persecution has been part and parcel of faith since about forever.
I don’t expect any better from non-believers and that is not low expectations. That is reality. They don’t know any better and are under the influence of the enemy and will do that sort of think until and unless God gets hold of them.
I am rarely on these threads and angry posters like you are part of the reason.
Well, there's irony for you......
I've seen that as well. You posted a number of threads and made them caucus and the RC's crashed the thread and caused the caucus label to be removed.
I've posted threads by Tozer, which never made any mention of Catholicism, and yet someone keyworded them with *Catholicbashing*.
Great passage, bears repeating.
Php 1:15-19
(15) Some indeed preach Christ even of envy and strife; and some also of good will:
(16) The one preach Christ of contention, not sincerely, supposing to add affliction to my bonds:
(17) But the other of love, knowing that I am set for the defence of the gospel.
(18) What then? notwithstanding, every way, whether in pretence, or in truth, Christ is preached; and I therein do rejoice, yea, and will rejoice.
(19) For I know that this shall turn to my salvation through your prayer, and the supply of the Spirit of Jesus Christ,
But we could always count on you to post; multiple times per thread; images that expressed a deep wisdom outlining the problem.
