Thank you Free Republic for allowing me to post and vent on this site for over ten years. I am a young, married conservative woman who is trying to raise her daughter to be a fine, upstanding lady, an educated woman and a worthy wife to a decent man. Despite the stupidity of my generation (I am on the cusp of GenX and GenY) there is hope. Many young people are more prolife than ever. And at last, many others are beginning to open their eyes to the lies of socialism.
However recent events on this site like witnessing the discord between fellow believers of Christ and how the Religious moderators have given carte blanche to those who wish to spread hate is not something I want to be part of.
I received this message from the Religion Moderator regarding Key words received 03/02/2015 8:45:19 PM PST
DO NOT use keywords to snipe at other posters or beliefs. RM
I certainly did not post key words that sniped at anyone; they were terms such as "enough already, Christianity, unity and "peace." Now, yes, the comments I made were invectives thrown at posters. I don't deny that; but they deserved every word directed at them and more. Outside of Caucus threads the religious forum is based on sniping at posters and insulting other's beliefs. Mostly its a few alleged Evangelicals damning those Papists, pedophiles, pagans, cracker-eaters, cannibals and Mary-worshipping heretics to Hell if they don't convert to the Western Branch of American Reform Presbylutheranism or the Northern Conservative Baptist Great Lakes Region Council of 1879. Then a very small contingent of Catholics tries to fight back.
These are the kind of comments are allowed on the religious forums without any moderation.
"I believe that Catholicism has caused more people to go to hell then [sic] Islam."

I have no skin in this game other than to realize that Christians (and Jews) are not each others enemies. There is a much more diabolical force in this world that should be fought. Anti-theists, Islamists, secular amoralists, etc., they're nothing. But, hey, keep going after Catholics and Mormons because they're the ones ruining the world today!
I said those words because it was the truth, (a truth that many others see but do not mention; they merely avoid the conflicts). If the anti-Catholic delusional bigots have a problem with the truth, then a pox on their houses.
I have posted on and off this site for over ten years. Every time I come back here I think to myself, Wow, FR is one of the only sites telling it like it is when it comes to politics! But then the OCD religious posters take control over and over again. Its not just the religious forums, but theyre the worst. In the past the moderation was far more even-handed. Now its out of control. Please use more judiciousness in moderating them in the future.
You are losing members left and right and your fundraisers take months to complete. I am aware that the owner of this site, Mr. Robinson, is a Catholic, and Im sure it breaks his heart to see such infighting amongst fellow Christians. I hope his health betters and that he can continue to fight the goof fight.
Nevertheless, FR's days as a premium conservative site are over. There a quite a few decent folks around here like Mrs. Don-0, xzins, Morgana, miss marmelstein, wardaddy, that fellow named something like yefrugeturbrumuy, and lots of others. There are many good folks with diverse opinions and no malice in their hearts.
But some others seem possessed by other-world forces. Mostly they're old people scared of death, wanting to make sure they get in with God before the end, desperate to hold on to every penny they've ever come across, willing to kvetch about the future and frequently mentioning how glad they'll be when they're dead and won't have to deal with this world, while their children and grandchildren will. Or worse, they actively wish for the world to end today or soon. Sorry, I'm young enough to have a smidgen of hope despite the moral disaster this world is in.
The Apple squabbles, the griping about TV and art, heck even the "my candidate is better than your candidate" bloodletting is nothing compared to the nutters that run rampant on the religion forum.
So Religious moderator, if you thought my key words were examples of sniping, then I suppose this post was outright bashing. Every time I come to this site I get angry. Anger opens up the heart to dark forces; its best not to be part of that.
Got to go. May peace come to this once wonderful site and make it a place of harmony for future posters.
Goodnight.
He certainly did...After Jesus went to heaven, he sent the Holy Spirit who was charged with bringing to remembrance of what Jesus said to people that he inspired to write down the words of God...To be preserved forever...
Those words have now been around (OT and New) for thousands of years...
Without that book, your religion would still be worshiping Diana,,,Oh wait!!!
What a bunch of garbage.
I will post threads from time to time on a topic I think might be interesting. I used to try and review the articles closely to make sure they didn't mention any other denomination so I could post them as caucus threads. Almost every thread was protested by Roman Catholics to the RM. I even had a RC protest that the Apostles Creed was written by the Roman Catholic Church and the thread couldn't be a caucus because of it.
On one occasion I posted a thread as a Caucus thread which mentioned the Reformed. Instead of being contacted by the RM. A Reformed believer mailed me and pointed out what he thought was an error.
It's clear to me that RC's can play the "victim card" with the best of them, but it doesn't mean it's true. My experience has been that RC's start claiming they're being "bashed" when a Christian quotes Scripture.
It seems RCs want to claim everyone of high esteem as their own, but i have never seen any substantiation for this one, but only things that infer the contrary. Yet i am not going to both Jim with more pings than he already has.
As if its one sided (i have lot of anti-Prot scorn quotes), and most of the responses to RCs by Prots have been due to RCs using FR as news and polemics organ for their church.
But the Lord called people harsher names than you showed. Yet as the RM says, "If you can't take the heat.."
A brief perusal of your posting history tells me how ecumenical you are.
Good night.
Interesting that this would be brought up by a RC. It's the RCC that believes muslims worships the same God that Christians worship. It's the RCC that doesn't support stopping illegal immigration. It's the current head of the RCC that thinks capitalism and profit are bad.
I know in my heart that my fellow Born Again Christians will be there with me to fight the enemy at the gates. It's not majority Evangelical Christian states that vote for liberalism. It's states that are majority RC that are voting for liberalism.
Time to clean your house before you condemn mine.
By any chance did you keep any of those posts where some folks were posting happy thoughts of bringing back the inquisition to deal with the “protestant problem?”
I stopped reading right there. I'm not Catholic.
Night.
That's because they are...
You must be a RC, as for years we have endured incessant RC postings about their church, and objections to it includes the response to post your own. So a couple Prots have been but RCs are the largest whiners and victim card users on the RM,.
And you didn't even ping the person you are attacking either!
I wonder, would you call a post vile and offensive if someone had said instead:
"Protestantism has sent more people to hell than Islam."
Because we have seen this and much worse posted by Catholics on the Religion Forum on a pretty regular basis and seem to deal with it pretty well. We aren't calling for a mutiny of Free Republic, the abolishment of the Religion Forum or criticizing and calling into question the motives and effectiveness of the Religion Moderators.
We are supposed to be adults here and have been forewarned that the RF is a town-square type of format where contrary beliefs can be expressed. I'd suggest, for those who cannot tolerate having their religion criticized, they should stay away from the RF.
Sounds like you should be, or wanna be...
Is it heretical to say your own beliefs are heretical:)
I am curious as I have never seen you post your Gnostic views. I thought the Catholics did all the Gnostics in centuries ago .
Thanks for proving the posters point.
You are one of the ones who uses probably the MOST bandwidth EVERY single day to post your pro-Catholic threads on the Religion Forum and you have the nerve to try and blackmail Free Republic for allowing the free expression of religion??? Give me a break!
This thread is in the Smoky Backroom so Religion Forum guidelines do not apply. That said, thick skin is required for ‘open’ RF debate. Posters who get offended when their beliefs are deplored or ridiculed - or if they take things personally - should IGNORE open RF threads altogether and instead post to RF threads labeled caucus, ecumenical, devotional or prayer.
We have seen such things as
thanking God the Spanish Inquisition was up to the task,
that Protestantism is belief in ones self, and
absolutely alien to Christianity, and that,
Protestants are mostly biblically illiterate,
intellectually dishonest,
evil fruit, who
don’t have the Holy Spirit, and
are not part of the Body of Christ, and
who have no foundation for their understanding of Christianity, and
will not be saved unless they becomes a member of the Catholic Church, and
are by inclination vandals whio should be eradicated from the face of the earth,
But that Catholics never put down or challenge beliefs from protestants, and that,
there never has been a bit of anti-protestant bigotry on FR,
and have seen a Catholic teaching proven false.
Eyes have they but see not.
So this should go to all?
