A RECENT United Nations report says that nearly half a million Ukrainians have fled the country since April. The fact that families run from a war zone is heartbreaking but hardly unexpected. The disturbing part lies in the details of the roughly 454,000 people who had fled Ukraine by the end of October, more than 387,000 went to Russia. Most of those who fled were Russian speakers from the east, but this still raises a sobering question: If this is a conflict between Ukraine and Russia, why did so many Ukrainians choose to cast their lot with the enemy?
Moscows denials of involvement in eastern Ukraine are, of course, absurd: It is clear that the separatists in Donetsk and Luhansk are equipped, reinforced and trained by Russians. That said, if Vladimir V. Putin had tried sending unmarked commandos to set up sham republics in western Ukraine, where anti-Russian sentiment runs high, his men would have been returned to the Kremlin in body bags. Yes, Mr. Putin is brewing unrest in the east, but he is brewing with local ingredients. He is connecting with the population using a language they speak and a symbolism they understand.
The unpalatable reality is that a significant portion of eastern Ukrainians the very people on the ground living and suffering through this conflict distrust Kiev and the West and at least tacitly support Russia and the separatists. And frankly, that isnt surprising.

No sympathy from me. They should sleep in that bed now. At least oligarchs are still rich and politicians are still pocketing money. The rest got a ‘European choice’ to be a $10 prostitutes or picking pockets in the West. Business as usual in Ukieland.
Further she said..."To assume that the additional funding will have to come from the IMF, I think is rather far-fetched," ... "If the economy has to be restored and stability maintained, money will have to come from multiple sources."
IMF will now require the US to assume Ukraines "debt" and control....Ukraine will have no choice but to do things our way. Sad for Ukraine....they made an awful bed they're going to have to sleep in...yet again...
I don’t answer your question when I don’t know answers because, unlike you, I don’t want to throw accusations based on imagination.
I want to believe that US is not involved with islamic terrorists but I know for sure that some individuals and organizations in US are involved indeed.
As for an American Committee for Chechnya it is not a secret society. You can learn who were members from open sources.
...”You and Caww have accused the United States of having control over Al-Qaeda affiliated terrorist groups”....
You can stop dragging my name into your arguements any time....as well... stating falsehoods I have not mentioned.
I realize you likely have animosity toward anything Russia does as the history you’ve shared would attest to. But we live in a very undstable world right now with some nasty business going on by all the major players which none of them should be excluded from being discussed.
Many times people on these threads have attested they are not taking sides but want to know the truth of what’s happening...at the very least what is being stated by these players on the World Stage. If you stop the debate/conversation by name calling and creating chaos on the threads then the truth will never be known. Is that what your intentions are?
My gut wrentches when I see what our Administration is doing not only in our own country but the decisive actions and maniplulations doing abroad, or refusing to do that needs doing of...and costing this country billions and much more.
There’s an ugly evil movement on the world stage that’s bent on destroying the sovernity of every nation and the freedoms of all peoples....if we cannot name those involved as they appear to be, and speak candidly how we view them, then how can we ever fight against what we do not know?
You of all people should know this better than others.
We don’t live in the world as it once was but have to deal with it as it really is....and obviously few that have any comfort in how the nation leaders are handling things they could and should be handling far better than what is happening...and surely this includes our own country’s leaders as it stands currently.
So I will continue to bring information to the threads which I think may shed some light on International Affairs....the truth is somewhere in between it all...and it is that most seek who care and love our country.
Your words:
"US just showed Russia in Chechnya they can hit them just like they blamed Russia for doing so in Crimea....."
So what "just" happened in Chechnya recently, you anti-American dog, and by whom?
You of all people should know this better than others.
You are a troll who just lied to my face, and you have been my implacable enemy since the Ukraine crisis started, filled with deceit and malice. Now you say "You of all people should know... etc"? Are you trying to act as if there is common ground between me, an American, and you, a traitor?
It's all about geopolitics.
When CNN repeats Washington's position it's freedom of the press.
When RT repeats Moscow's position it's government propaganda
...and vice-versa
When RT repeats Moscow’s position and is owned by Moscow it is propaganda.
You entirely missed the point.
A little geography lesson for he folks over in Times Square.
