8 Other Laws That Could Be Ignored Now That Christians Get To Pick And Choose(They're mad!)
The Huffington Post ^ | June 30, 2014 | Ryan Grim, Washington bureau chief

Posted on 06/30/2014 9:29:50 PM PDT by 2ndDivisionVet

The owners of a chain of stores called Hobby Lobby don't like Obamacare. In particular, they really don't like the part that requires insurance companies to cover contraceptives. Normally, people who don't like a law petition the government to change that law. That's how a nation of laws works.

But these men are Christians. The Supreme Court ruled Monday that Christian business owners are special. Their deeply held religious belief that some particular form of contraception is immoral carries more weight than the force of law, five conservative Christian justices ruled. The court -- in a fairly bald admission that its ruling is incoherent -- added that no general amnesty from other laws should be assumed to be the result of its ruling and that its reasoning was strictly limited to women's contraception. Such a limitation raises legitimate questions about the rather perverted and obsessive minds of the five men who made the ruling, but it also carries little legal weight. Precedent is precedent, whether the precedent-setters say so or not.

As Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg wondered aloud in her dissent, "Would the exemption ... extend to employers with religiously grounded objections to blood transfusions (Jehovah's Witnesses); antidepressants (Scientologists); medications derived from pigs, including anesthesia, intravenous fluids, and pills coated with gelatin (certain Muslims, Jews, and Hindus)?"

As long as we're doing a la carte law-abiding, here are a few additional ones that could become optional to certain people with deeply held beliefs.

NUDITY LAWS

Entire colonies of people are dedicated to the belief that being compelled to wear clothes is wrong. Others don't believe they should be compelled to make love only indoors. Don't wanna see this on your Saturday stroll? Hey, freedom isn't free.....

Didn’t used to be able to, then I saw some people doing it, so it must be approved now.

Ryan is wrong right from the first sentence. Contraception prevents conception. What the ruling was about are post-conception practices. Totally different. Those are, basically, abortion in a bottle. Not contraceptives.

What about those states where courts threw out state referendums where the people clearly stated their wishes on the issue of gay marriage Ryan? If that’s how a nation of laws works Ryan then why do some state and federal courts have such disregard for it?

[PASTEURIZED MILK
For some Amish folk, following a strict religious interpretation of “Do unto others what you would have others do unto you” means selling raw, unpasteurized milk, a practice banned under U.S. law for its potential to carry dangerous bacteria such as salmonella, E. coli and listeria.]

They are insane to be bitching about this when we have near a million “dreamers” at the border carrying god knows what diseases into this country...

Ryan Grim of the Huffington Post soon joined Sharpton in going over the top as he accused Republicans of engaging in a “concerted effort” to “disenfranchise a vast block of voters,” and of “trying to make” voting “illegal.”

“I leaf Oregon” = I would love if Oregon made marijuana legal.

Ryan, do you actually believe it is your duty to pay for my contraceptives?

But if that be true or not you have already described how how it will work.

You are already helping me to pay my living expense by simply paying social security as I collect S.S, and you owe me so I hope you make a lot of money and pay a lot on S.S.

In case you do not understand it, social security was heralded as a retirement fund so since I have been forced to pay it for almost 60 years I want it back with interest.

I find now that I want many other things also, so since you believe that it is your obligation to pay for my contraceptives I would like to take every advantage of that.

So I believe that it should also be your obligation to see to it that I have a chance to use the contraceptives which it is your obligation to provide me with.

I am sure as smart as you are that you will be able to see where this would lead and I am looking forward to it.

There is a lot of romance out there but it does take funding even if it does not include the professionals.

There are so many things I am missing out on because of not having the funds.

So I would really appreciate it if you would put your mind to work and see if you can come up with a way for the tax payers of this nation to pay me what they really owe me.
