It's a Guy Fawkes mask....and if they knew what eventually happened to Mr. Fawkes they wouldn't be so pleased to wear it.
Guy Fawkes was found guilty of treason and executed along with Thomas Wintour, on 31st January, 1606. The two men were both hanged, drawn and quartered.

Yeah, but Fawkes managed to jump from the platform and break his own neck before they emasculated him and pulled him to pieces. Other conspirators were not so fortunate.
