"I've received three messages from Bashar al-Assad via Iraqi ministers stating that he'd like to meet," Petraeus told the president... Stan McChrystal and I still want to go to Damascus to talk AQI only with Bashar al-Assad and solicit his help in stemming the flow of foreign fighters and taking on known AQ personalities who work in Syria."
After Petraeus was rebuffed in the January 2008 videoconference with Bush, the general joked about the rejection in a morning briefing with his staff. "Some woman kicked him under the table," he quipped, implying that Rice had encouraged Bush to turn down the suggestion.

LOL, Bush’s fault Obama went to a beg for bucks in Las vegas after his Ambassador was murdered by terrorists sans marines. Are you for real?
Bashar Assad was, for a very long time, under control of whoever could control his personal assistant - for money. For a time, that was the CIA.
You’ll see a lot of genuinely treasonous stuff done over the years by Bush the elder. HE grabbed the reins of the Iraq war early on. As well as declaring Bill Clinton “his son”.
Know your history.
jw, if you frame every thing in the context of the gob of spit in “in chief”, or his not so good nor nearly as bad Geo B. well ya may be short sheeting yourself.
Read the cut, or just run spleen, beat your chest, rush to be the “first responder”.

I think we should start arranging unguarded meetings with jihadists for the high priests of political correctness. Wack Hillary, Rice, Holder, a Bush and a few generals and see how quickly the change their religion of lies at the State Department, DOJ and DOD. Why are they running around with guards and security when they are exposed to the peaceful ones? As long as the blood sacrifices are limited to soldiers, they are good to go.
