As a true conservative who also happens to be a Jew, I am often asked why Jews so often support Democratic or liberal causes, when the “right” is so outspoken and committed to Israel.

To answer a large part of the problem, one need look no further than this Colofornication person or whatever his/her name is, and the other Mormon bashers who for some reason have been allowed to flourish and fine tune their crafts here.

From history, Jews have no admiration for intolerance and hatred. You can call it what you want, but branding religion as occult, demonizing large groups of people who are what they are due mainly to birth and what they were taught, is dangerous ground.

I sincerely believe these people think they are on some type of mission, but I fail to believe it is truly ordained by God or goes beyond the commandment of the Christ to “love your neighbor as you love yourself”.

Of course they claim to “love” infidels or heathens, but they mock them at the same time and the differences become so blurred, they are vile.

I come from a family of survivors who were almost exterminated due to intolerance and hate. Yes, it has affected who I am because the reality of what my family survived was taught to me from my earliest memory.

There is not much difference in the hatred preached here. How, in the name of G*d, does any “Christian” find him or herself in a position to judge others? Was this truly the message of your Christ?

I have long admired the Christian faith- but I fear that it’s message of love and peace is being overshadowed by the too loud message of some who continue to preach “if you don’t have it exactly the way WE believe it was written.....you are damned to hell and it is my business to tell you”.

I truly, sincerely do not believe this was the intent of Jesus.

I’m not suggesting that ANYONE abandon their beliefs. And perhaps if you feel led to, there are times when it might be appropriate and effective for you to share your beliefs with others.

But the Bible is VERY clear that there are ways to do such things. They are to be done personally, quietly, with reverence and respect.

Blasting your fears and hatred on a public forum that indeed for many serves as the face for the conservative movement, will only confirm for many what they already mistakenly believe; that conservative, Tea-party “types” are loons who speak hate-filled, ignorant speech that alienates rather than invites.

G*d’s message has always been of love and acceptance. Not acceptance of your perceptions of sin, but acceptance of one another. How can you possibly affect change when you come from such a place of intolerance?

Whether you agree with me or not, I felt compelled to write and though I disagree with Jim’s position to allow this to flourish, I have great respect for his right to not only speak his mind- but that he also allows for dissent.

Love one another people. Leave the judgement to the understanding of G*d.
