Except for his unfortunate go along to get along support of TARP, bailouts, stimulus spending and the increased credit limit, etc, Ryan is a pretty good choice. Probably the best choice of the RINOS that were on Romney's short list. I support Ryan for the vice presidency. Wish he were at the top of the ticket, though.
But I still cannot and will not support the grand father of ObamaCare. Romney still loves and brags about his bastard brainchild, RomneyCare, even today when he knows what an anti-liberty socialist POS it is.
And the fact that he advocated that abortion should be safe and legal in America for over three decades of his adult lifetime and even advocated that Roe v Wade should be supported and sustained as settled law precludes any consideration whatsoever by this pro-life Christian for Myth Romney for the presidency.
And the fact that he boasted that he would be better for "gay rights" than Ted Kennedy, and proved it just increases my resistance.
That, and his penchant for gun control, his continuing support for global warming, gays in the scouts, gays in the military, and his record of appointing liberal judges makes it all but impossible for me to support him.
Lastly, we're having a bit of changeover on our moderator staff. At least two moderators resigned this afternoon after I flatly refused to rein in a so-called anti-Mormon "bigot" on FR. Well, if being in opposition to false prophets and false prophecy makes a Christian believer a bigot, then I guess I'm a bigot. I've posted before that I flat do not believe that the Book of Mormon is the true word of God. Nor do I believe that Joseph Smith was a prophet of God. The Christian bible warns us to be weary of false prophets and that I am. Romney being the presumptive Republican nominee does not change that fact.
No doubt that's true, so why didn't He use obama?
Or, has He used obama to give us exactly what we asked for in our heart of hearts?
Or maybe He gave us obama just so we would ask for Mitt?
Or, maybe He just turned away from us as we have turned away from Him and is just letting the clock run out before judgement kicks in?
I guess we'll find out one way or the other. If the Mayans don't get us first...
Which is what I’m saying. I’m not sure the results of Jim hypothetically becoming a clothespin nose voter would be marked with civilized, adult, articulate, reasoned disagreements rather than sharp, sour opuses, and not a few catcalls of “MITTBOT.”
At this point, the best chance we have to peacefully save our Republic as founded is to take the Republican party away from the GOP-e.
This is doable, but only from the bottom up, i.e. flood the GOP with real conservatives from the county level up to the state and national offices.
This has been happening, but will take more than a couple of election cycles to see it through.
And at this point in time, the GOP-e has the upper hand the further "up ticket" you go, but their power is steadily eroding, as seen by Mitt's VP pick, Dewhurst loosing to Cruz, etc.
The GOP-e knows that they would have absolutely no chance of holding any power if we did not support them.
So as much as I hate to see Mitt as President,I know all of us here agree that a second term for Obama is a guaranteed death sentence for the U.S. as founded.
Voting for Mitt should be considered as a tactical necessity needed to allow us to gain even more down ballot positions and nothing more.
You say you're a lawyer, yet you post that drivel?
I do not think any amount of proof stuffed in your face would move you. You’d just weasel on to some other topic.
Nah. Nothing to worry about. He'll have four more years and then we can get a real Conservative in the White House. /sarc
Obama Signs Bill Exempting Presidential Appointees from Senate Confirmation
President Barack Obama signed a bill Friday evening that would exempt some senior-level presidential appointees from Senate confirmation.Sponsored by Democratic Sen. Chuck Schumer and cosponsored by Republicans and Democrats, the bill, now law, weakens the power of the legislature and strengthens the executive branch, critics have warned. The bill skated through the Senate three months after being introduced in 2011 and was passed by the Republican-controlled House 261-116 in July.
The law now allows Obama and future presidents to name appointees to senior positions in every branch of the administration, from the Department of the Treasury to the Department of Homeland Security.
So Obama will win by 0.0001% of the vote? Now that is a very close election. Too bad the Republican Party crapped on all us conservatives, isn’t it?
Probably. And the Baptists are wrong, too, about that and many other things.
What I see as the major issue with Christians, Christianity, and those religions which claim to be so is their bringing extraneous rules, doctrines, and people’s opinions (some call them ‘prophetic visions’) into their belief system instead of relying solely upon the Holy Scriptures and studying what God and the Holy Spirit have to say.
You are absolutely insane. I do not compare Nazi atrocities for political gain. I swear there is something bizarre that has happened here since I’ve been gone. This place is almost unrecognizable.
LOL! Nice post. We need a little humor about now.
Romney can't be trusted, that's for sure. But I think with the choice of Ryan he may be showing that he really doesn't have core values because he's picking someone who has held far more conservative positions for far longer than he has. Which is at least better than being a liberal Kool-aid drinker. Because if he has no core, we do have a chance as the conservative base to keep the pressure on him as President and make sure he does what we want. We may lose some battles with his administration, but far less than we'd lose with Obama. Not to mention, grooming Ryan to be a future presidential candidate would be an extremely good side effect.
That, and they've got a good Batman/Robin vibe going.
In your dreams. Your third party candidate will obtain that amount of the vote, 3% at most, and hand Obama the White House. See how that works out for you over the next four years.
Even if he did, (and you're right, he did not) it is certainly not "unconstitutional" for an individual to use whatever test he wants to, to determine how or who he votes for. The Mormon, Harvard, lawyer is full of s###!
I'll take that to mean that you do not have any evidence whatsoever of Romney actually "socking" it to Obama.
This premise is false.
Again..how is it hatred to stand up for you own beliefs?
As far as Romney and the GOP-e go..
As the full fabric of America thou canst not see
King of the Free World thou shalt not be.
Constitutionalists believe in religious freedom...and refrain from calling it racist or bigoted to hold firm to your beliefs.
In my opinion...if Romney and company follows this leftist insane pc path of quilting people who do not deserve it...they will not just lose, they will lose in a landslide.
Or how about is he using the Muslims and their clitorectimies to further his word?
Is their no excuse or rationalization you Romney supporters will not endorse to further his anticonservatism?
None of that is remotely close to what I posted. I do hope you didn't hurt yourself making that tremendous stretch :-)
No, I don't believe those things.
.
Now an easy yes or no question for you.... do you believe God is powerful enough to use a Mormon?
.
Thank you for your response!
