i never knew that conservative was some kind of fetish attitude for which one willingly became short sighted.
***Short sided, huh? So tell me, then, what is your plan for getting a conservative into the POTUS slot for 2016 if Romney wins? Unseating a republican president?
So then you agree, Christ correcting a false teacher is within Christ’s teachings, and His followers should do the same.
Then you know enough to realize that Jesus claimed to be the Messiah and also God Himself. He did this in front of the sanhedrin, even His enemies acknowledge the claim. These are historical facts. Perhaps there are some historical facts in the Torah that you think I’m overlooking, that would have direct bearing on the state of my soul? Because your steadfast overlooking of THESE facts DOES have direct bearing on your soul.
Also, in your Torah (what we read as) Genesis 49:12, your Messiah has already come.
You cannot claim ignorance of these facts.
Jesus established ONE church and He said Satan would never overcome His Church - Matthew 16:18.
“Yes, He did.
And that ‘church’ is the corporate body of believers; not a large, institutionalized and centralized organization.”
~ ~ ~
The one sentence comeback from those who deny there is one Church. Yeah, a “body” of inconsistent “believers”, how does that fit “one faith?” It doesn’t and you know Our Lord’s prayer to the Father is that we all be one in belief.
God set you in this time, it’s going to happen, the unity of Christians and non-Christians coming to the faith.
What is scary is when some Christians who are anti-Catholic see the faith attacked even more, literally crucified in the near future, they will think they were right but they are wrong. First, before the evil anti-Christ....
God is going to send the divine gift of the Great Warning for the entire world.
The clothespin nose voter rightly long views your quest as quixotic.
***Then that begs the question of what you’re doing here on FR at all. FR was started by Don Quixotes. Its owner is a Don Quixote, we follow Quixotic principles and to come here and try to separate us from our ‘quixotic’ principles means that you’re a troll.
If I were to go over to a website started by Jeremiah Wright and spend time trying to separate them from their own ‘quixotic’ beliefs, it would be obvious trolling. The Owner himself is a quixote. The folks who flocked together in him as birds of a feather are all quixotes. Going over there to argue them out of their quixotic beliefs would simply be trolling. How are you different, here?
Thanks JR..solid observations.. me I am writing in Ron Paul ...I just can not vote for either of the guys running
AB tells US how to do business: period.
***I know I’m dense, but... who is AB?
Ive already said exactly what you all are doing, and what youre doing is acting in a manner contrary to Scripture.
***Oh, so we’re in circular repeat mode. Okaaaaaaaay, then, here goes AGAIN, the question you WILL NOT answer because the answer is so freeping obvious that you can’t answer.
Was Jesus being Christ-like when He confronted false teachers of His day, calling them “sons of the devil”?
You effectively accuse Christ of being unChrist-like in your quest to saddle His followers with extra burdens that even Christ saw fit not to carry.
Dear Elsie: I’m pretty sure you didn’t answer. There is no way you are bent out of shape about Mormon “false teaching” and yet you think Jews are just peachy for teaching that Christ was not God, not even a prophet.
And there is no way this little cabal of fundametalist Christians who hate Mormonism, feel warm and fuzzy about Roman Catholics.
The bottom line is you are an intolerant group with a hang up about Mormons in particular.
But you know if you tell your true feelings about Jews and Catholics you’ll find yourselves in bigot central pleading your case.
And that’s one reason I resent the efforts by a bunch of intolerant non Catholics to tell Catholics why they should hate Mormons and how Mormonism hates them. Even to the point of one of you saying I can’t be a Catholic while lecturing me on Catholic anti Mormon doctrine.
And Elsie, dear, you’ve got to be kidding me taking that long and all those wise guy posts in answer to the simple question of your opinion on the religions of Jews and Catholics. Not fooling anyone. Bigots do not hate only one other religion.
And let me tell you folks in parting, I am near 60 years old 16 years of Catholic education, and a life time of Catholic and religious study. NEVER in my life have I heard a priest mention Mormonism or display on any subject the level of intolerance and zealotry displayed here against Mormons. Don’t dare lecture others on their own religions.
Have a good night kids.
Its pretty clear from Christs own words that our deeds are irrelevant when it comes to salvation.
***There’s a secondary point where God isn’t looking at you in terms of salvation, but what kind of crowns He can reward you with. Some of us may have all of our works burned up and ONLy have salvation, others of us will have many crowns of righteousness to celebrate.
Pope John II did, in his official pronouncement on Mormonism.
kevmo, there were at least 50 times in this thread where I let you have the last word, but you keep replying to posts I make to other posters. I am not interested in a scripture war, and there is really no way to convince me to convert to Christianity or whatever you are pushing. It is a waste of your time. Go convert Romney.
***No thanks. God seems to have placed a burden on my heart for you. So maybe you could go and convert Romney or his followers on some other thread. In the meantime, please look at the FACTS of christianity, that Jesus factually claimed equality with God before the sanhedrin. Your response could be an indicator before God, your soul could be at stake.
That's because OTHER verses expand on the BoL.
THIS verse talks about OTHER books.
Well; FSE, you've opened a can of WORMS now!! ;^)
Jesus answered, The work of God is this: to believe in the one he has sent.
1 John 3:21-24
Dear friends, if our hearts do not condemn us, we have confidence before God and receive from him anything we ask, because we keep his commands and do what pleases him. And this is his command: to believe in the name of his Son, Jesus Christ, and to love one another as he commanded us. The one who keeps Gods commands lives in him, and he in them. And this is how we know that he lives in us: We know it by the Spirit he gave us.
