Except for his unfortunate go along to get along support of TARP, bailouts, stimulus spending and the increased credit limit, etc, Ryan is a pretty good choice. Probably the best choice of the RINOS that were on Romney's short list. I support Ryan for the vice presidency. Wish he were at the top of the ticket, though.
But I still cannot and will not support the grand father of ObamaCare. Romney still loves and brags about his bastard brainchild, RomneyCare, even today when he knows what an anti-liberty socialist POS it is.
And the fact that he advocated that abortion should be safe and legal in America for over three decades of his adult lifetime and even advocated that Roe v Wade should be supported and sustained as settled law precludes any consideration whatsoever by this pro-life Christian for Myth Romney for the presidency.
And the fact that he boasted that he would be better for "gay rights" than Ted Kennedy, and proved it just increases my resistance.
That, and his penchant for gun control, his continuing support for global warming, gays in the scouts, gays in the military, and his record of appointing liberal judges makes it all but impossible for me to support him.
Lastly, we're having a bit of changeover on our moderator staff. At least two moderators resigned this afternoon after I flatly refused to rein in a so-called anti-Mormon "bigot" on FR. Well, if being in opposition to false prophets and false prophecy makes a Christian believer a bigot, then I guess I'm a bigot. I've posted before that I flat do not believe that the Book of Mormon is the true word of God. Nor do I believe that Joseph Smith was a prophet of God. The Christian bible warns us to be weary of false prophets and that I am. Romney being the presumptive Republican nominee does not change that fact.
that’s your opinion; I disagree. What I see is those who don’t agree with YOUR opinion being accused of being liberals, trolls, lovers of all GOP-e. Which is more than laughable. It’s pathetic.
“We do not have the luxury of years...we need to remove Obama now...and sad as it is, it will either be Obama or Romney for President. We need Romney in there with a majority House and Senate so he can enact what he has promised. If he does, the nation will turn around and Romney will be remembered in history as a huge turning point for the good of the Republic.
If we do not, Obama will drive us headlong into the ground.”
THIS should be the sole driving focus for all of us right now.
Well said Jeff
Don't worry when the offering plate is passed. This church won't take the money of heretics and those who support the abortionist/homosexualist statist Romney.
Mormons already exercise their religious prerogatives on voting primarily ONLY for Mormon candidates; yet we don't have the "bigot patrol" out excoriating them for that.
I actually support their right to weigh their faith into their voting decisions; therefore, I don't call Mormons "bigots" for their voting patterns.
How do we know that Mormons ALREADY only vote 88-94% pro-Mormon when given a choice?
Per this 2008 exit poll data:
Exit poll data from Tuesday's primary elections showed Utah Republican voters cared more about presidential candidates' PERSONAL QUALITIES THAN THEIR POSITIONS ON THE ISSUES, the OPPOSITE OF THE NATIONAL TREND of the national trend in Super Tuesday voting.
Source: Romney's exit disappoints strong Utah following (Feb. 7, 2008 AP/Salt Lake Tribune)
Hence, it was rather interesting that 94-95% of Mormons in both Utah and Nevada voted for Romney in 2008:
* 2008 (Utah) "While the former Massachusetts governors faith has been a flashpoint in his campaign, it was perhaps one of his strongest assets in Utah, where more than 60% of the states residents share his faith. Exit poll data shows Romney swept voters across the board, handily winning every social, economic, and generational demographic in the state, as well as 94% of all Mormon voters." (Susan Davis, Wall Street Journal, Feb. 5, 2008, Romney Wins Utah With Help From Friends [Note: The Wall Street Journal was citing MSNBC.msn.com...]
* 2008 (Nevada) Per the Mormon Church, Mormons make up about 7.5% of Nevada's population. But according to the entrance polls so far, a whopping 25% of those who participated in the state's GOP caucuses are Mormons. And 94% of those people went with Romney.
Source: Nevada Mormons turn out for Romney (Mark Murray, MSNBC, Jan. 19, 2008)
* 2008 (Arizona and Nevada): In the Nevada Republican caucuses last cycle, entrance polls found that a quarter 26 percent of participants were Mormons and 95 percent supported Romney. He won the state handily. The numbers were also impressive in Arizona, where exit polls showed 11 percent of voters were Mormon and 88 percent of them voted for Romney...

* 2012 (Nevada): According to exit polls conducted for the Associated Press, nine of 10 Mormon voters in Nevada supported Romney.

If Christians voted the way Mormons vote --
-- the way others often accuse them of --
--"somebody who believes like me" --
--they would be BBQ'd in the MSM ... and even on FR.
Yet when Mormons vote...
...88% for the Mormon (Arizona, 2008)
...94% for the Mormon (Nevada and Utah, 2008)
...90% for the Mormon (Nevada, 2012)...
...they get a free pass from those who love to pound others who "weigh too much" "religion" into their decision-making.
Sounds like open religious hypocrisy to me.
Not being a Christian is probably why you assume that exposing a cult and trying to help people to not be seduced into the false religion that the LDS belief system is Mormon hating when in fact it is loving those decieved to attempt to draw them away from, or out of something that will not lead them to a relationship with God.
Jim, I have great respect for you and what you have done with your life. However, I must vote for Mitt Romney regardless of his views on abortion and homosexuality...there are State’s Rights that balance those issues out. Political Correctness is your worst enemy imho....plus personal issues usually are a vote for the opposition, in this case a vote against Romney is a vote for Obama. A second term for that man means Pelosi will be back with a Debbie Wasserman Schultz as her shadow. Romney and Ryan do not need tel-prompters, they speak very well on their own. Do I agree with everything they say? NO I don’t however, I do not want Barack H. Obama back for a second term....this country could not stand it. So please let’s get on the same page...fight for your issues in your state, Washington doesn’t give a flying leap what you or others think...your state does.
Squawk! Squawk! Forum parrots have been well taught! Somebody give TADSLOS a Saltine!
Is this a “conservative” website or an “anti-Mormon” website.
I’m getting really confused.
I heartily agree.
Polly want a Ritz? LOL
Thank you Jeff, your opinion is right on target. There are others here who would benefit from your comments.
I hope your health is good. love from Houston. :)
It would be nice if you guys showed half the disgust you show for Romney to Obama.

Thank you so very much. We must do EVERYTHING within our power to ensure the resounding defeat of Barack Hussein 0bama.
Like you, I believe that - to paraphrase Mr. Franklin, we must all stand together, or we will most surely find ourselves CHAINED together.
Romney is most certainly not the candidate many of us would have chosen, but he is who we are left with, and even aside from Ryan,(who, IMNSHO was a GREAT choice), the reality is that with work, we can and will be able to keep Romney in line. 0bama? Just look at all he has wrought when he knew he had to be reelected?! He WILL complete the transformation my FRiends.
May God guide our course.

Who is in the foxhole with Andrew.
There is nothing “loving” about what these people are doing to Mormons here. I have not seen intolerance and hatred allowed to flow like this among a “Christian” people in a long time.
They can hide behind the cross all day, but in the end, they lash out at what they hate and doing so in the name of their Christ is unfathomable. They will answer to their God for their actions.
I stand with you.
I cannot rationalize so much hate otherwise.
Throw some anti-Semitism into the hate cauldron that is bubbling on this thread. I'm certain The Won's minions are thrilled.
