I never suggested the EP freed anyone in the north. Slavery was abolished in my state when we adopted our constitution in 1780. No wars,. No one got killed.

And I simply cannot understand why none of you can utter the words that slavery was wrong. Without it, there would have been no war.

And your state ratified a national constitution that allowed it in other states. If they couldn't live with that, why did they agree to it?

And I simply cannot understand why none of you can utter the words that slavery was wrong. Without it, there would have been no war.

You can agree with the end, and still think the means sucked skunk butt.

“Without it, there would have been no war.”

You keep saying that, NS, but you never provide an ounce of proof.

Slavery was wrong!

The war was about the federal government retaining power and control over the states. Remember slavery was legal in the union at the beginning and at the end of the civil war.

If the war was primarily about slavery, the the Union would have abolished in its own territory before making war with the Confederacy.

BTW - read my tagline. It has been that way for years! (You might consider apologizing for implying that I condone slavery.)
