I don't believe you have any motive, political, personal, other than to speak your heart and mind, saying how you really feel, probably felt this way for quite some time, and can't say that I blame you. Other dyed-in the-wool Republicans have had the same change of heart about Dubya, but you've had the temerity to say it exactly as it is, exactly how you feel.and I congratulate, respect you for it.

During his tenure, he was spoken of here at FR with great reverence, respect, support for him was a deep as it was wide. Now, I can't recall the last time I read anything about him here. So, it may have taken three years to speak your mind, God bless you for that, but for you at least, the bloom is off this Texas-or-any-other-variety-rose.

I’ve been pointing out Dubya’s conservative betrayals since the Farm Bill of 02. At that point it was obvious that Bush and co. had made a conscious decision to go full steam ahead on big government for Jesus projects.

Hero worship is sickening regardless of the political party that practices it. The consequences are usually unpleasant as well. Just consider how the current occupant of the White House got there.
