Fleeting fundamental issue??!!! The economy??!!!!
4 more years of Obama may very well turn this country into something you and I may never be able to reverse. I’m not going to settle for that.
If he runs on a BIG idea like socialism vs. capitalism, that will work. I’m talking about this “turn the economy around” rhetoric based on unemployment figures or pocketbook/kitchen table economics. Bottom line, though, you can’t make your message all about economics or you’ll never be able to beat a Democrat if and when the economy is doing good, as we saw with Clinton. You’ll also never be able to save yourself if the economy’s going through a rough patch, as we saw with Bush, Sr. Leftism/progressivism is so embraces and well-defined by the Democrats now, that a debate over those BIG ideas should be what we’re running our elections on. And that entails social policy as well as economic policy.
