Earlier this week, I stated that it might make sense for the family of Trayvon Martin to get off of the media circuit. I saw no meaningful value in all of the television and radio appearances, since George Zimmerman has now been arrested and charged. At this stage in the game, the only individuals who benefit from additional media coverage are those who make a living by highlighting (and at times exploiting) grief-stricken mothers like Sybrina Fulton (the mother of Trayvon Martin).
After seeing that Fulton was somehow advised to appear on The OReilly Factor, Ive become deeply concerned that someone is guiding Trayvon Martins family reputation right off a cliff.
Ms. Fulton spoke on Thursday to none other than the most famous bigot on earth, Bill OReilly. Why she appeared on the show, I have no idea. The appearance is not going to make her son look better in the public eye. The audience is not sympathetic to her cause. Bill OReilly has never shown any legitimate concern for the well-being of African Americans, especially black men. She might have been better off speaking at a Klan rally, since there wouldnt be over two million people watching.
Being the racist bully that he is, Bill OReilly pretended to sympathize with Ms. Fultons grief. He then did what he does best: go for the jugular and humiliate unsuspecting amateurs for all the world to see.
Bill OReilly indirectly attacked Fulton for working with Al Sharpton, who has been accused of fanning the flames of racial hatred in America. Of course Ms. Fulton hasnt been playing this game long enough to understand the complications that come with defending Al Sharpton. Ms. Fultons close alliance with Sharpton has bolstered the media attention necessary to push for Zimmermans arrest, but surely undermines public sympathy for her cause. Since Zimmerman has been arrested, shed be best not to address the Sharpton issue anymore in public.
Bill OReilly then went on to accuse Ms. Fulton of conspiring with black civil rights figures to convict George Zimmerman on TV. So, right before our very eyes, the man who shot an unarmed boy in cold blood has been transformed into a victim. The egregious violation of Trayvon Martins civil rights has now been trumped by the quest to protect the rights of the man who killed him. Yes Ms. Fulton, Bill OReilly is a heinous human being who cares almost nothing for your son. Bill OReilly makes millions every year empowering those who want to see black boys in prison or dead.
Benjamin Crump, the attorney for Sabrina Fulton, would likely be verbally pimp slapped by every working attorney in America for making his client part of a national media circus. Some have accused the attorney of advising Fulton poorly last week when she went onto national television and stated that she believed that Zimmerman shot her son by accident (a direct contradiction to the second degree murder charge). He is now serving his client up to the lions den of Fox News, a place where reality becomes so distorted that it is OK to joke about murdering the first black president.
Perhaps Mr. Crump should now give his client a bottle of Vodka and let her tell her darkest secrets to George Zimmermans defense attorneys. It appears that he has no problem leveraging the legitimate grief of a determined mother to make himself into the next Johnny Cochran. Maybe he sees the dollar signs from a big civil suit, Im not sure. Either way, Crump is doing the Trayvon Martin family a huge disservice by exposing her so readily to her enemies, and I can see no logic behind this strategy.
This is getting ridiculous and there is nothing this family can gain by appearing in any national media outlet, let alone Fox News. This situation is getting messier by the second. For the sake of finding justice for Trayvon Martin, his mother must stop talking in the media.
“....the man who shot the unarmed boy in cold blood....”
Give me a break. Pot calling the kettle black, and no pun intended. And if Trayvon’s mother is going to go on the TV circuit, she ought to be prepared for this stuff or stay away.
The only thing in the entire article that I agreed with is that the "family" should shut the hell up. Go home and grieve. Quietly. I'm tired of hearing the whining. Had your kid been grounded, as any reasonable parent would have done, he would not be dead.
The egregious violation of Trayvon Martins civil rights
WHICH ONE DOCTOR? Can any of these modern day morons even explain what the civil rights movement of the 1950s and 60s did for blacks in this country?
My bet? NO! They can't, and they don't care! They're using their race as a way to gain attention and an advantage over whites. That is, by definition of the word, racism.
Trayvon Martin's "civil rights" weren't violated. How about Zimmerman's? Is it enumerated somewhere that black teenage boys are given the right to violently attack anyone, even member of their own race? Is it enumerated somewhere that black men, after impregnating a girl they wanted to "get wit," can just up and leave and go back to partying and gangbanging? Is it enumerated somewhere that blacks can go to the front of the admissions board lines, welfare office lines, food stamp lines, or any other social welfare office line they wish?
I'm sick of it, and I'm fed up. I call a spade a spade when a white trash moron does something stupid. Hell, they created the Darwin Awards just for that, and boy are there a lot of them. Yet a majority of one particular race does everything that is eschewed in every other social culture but it's considered acceptable by any other societal measure? Go piss off!
Of course he's not, bending double that he does to represent the "progressive" and/or minority viewpoint. But the bigot characterization is in keeping with those who call Fox New a right-wing mouthpiece. In short, it comes from people who watch neither BO'R or Fox News.
I thought it wasn't PC to call a black man "boy"?
