Why would anyone be even faintly hostile to the possibility of biological bases to some violent acts, and to continuing research to find them?

Afraid that people will escape personal responsibility if their behaviors and acts are proven to stem from an illness or physical abnormality?

Doesn’t mean if you inherited and acted out violent behaviors you sholdn’t be locked away forever to protect society! For example, whatever the cause, it is my understanding, pedophilia is never curable. Maybe controllable, but not cured. Like alcoholism.

Well in my opinion you do not have a very grounded position in the concept of personal responsibility. In today’s liberal left-wing culture the concept of personal responsibility is continually under attack. Of course the less responsible people are considered for their own actions then the more government could step in to manage people’s lives in the name of fairness and equality.

I highly doubt that we will ever find genetic causes for human behavior beyond there being a mere possible connection. Even in the case of finding genetic causes for disease it is only accurate to a certain percentage so it hardly makes for the “born this way’ case that you and others seem to be wishing for.

I am very pro-science but I do see the science following a trend whereas it is becoming extremely corrupted by liberal influences. There are massive amounts of children (adults too) being fed drugs and being told that they are not responsible for their behavior due to phony conditions invented by medical scientists.

And as to other comments in your posts – I am not hostile to science studying biological connections to human actions at all. I am though hostile to those who seek to corrupt the science for financial gain or for a political agenda.

And your definition of bi-sexual is simply convenient for you as it allows you to not have to explain the biological cause for it then. You say that they are simply homosexual who are denying it but I have known people who claim to prefer their the opposite gender but still occasionally desire the same. It is an obvious choice that they are making and has nothing to do with being born that way. They are simply perverts who feel no moral restrictions at all and just want to get off.

I am so sick and tired of hearing people assign the terms ‘rigid’ to people simply because they hold values and virtue to be of importance. This is a typical left-wing garbage way of thinking. It is the left-wing who are ‘rigid’ in their thinking and who continually hold that any thought of traditional values must be destroyed.
