Palin has actually spoken with understanding and compassion about a lesbian friend of hers, as I recall. She has her own Christian values, but I’ve never heard her be hateful in the least.

Exactly. As a conservative, I can be against homosexuality, but that doesn’t mean I hate the individual.

Many people (including homosexuals, liberals and even conservatives) cannot get their head around that. To them, condemnation of their actions gets personalized.

This is not to say I can be against the individual as well. I can be, and often am due to the nature of that person’s actions, especially when it comes to the advocacy of their beliefs.

I believe that liberalism is wrong and innately evil, and that those who devote their lives to pushing it on others are deserving of our malediction. This is self preservation, not the impulse to blindly hate.
