It’s an interesting analysis and entirely possible.

However, if that’s the republican strategy it’s going to fail in the south on Super Tuesday. The South isn’t going to vote for Romney any more than they did last time. It’s going to hand the Republican nomination to another candidate, someone who doesn’t drop out after the Northeast primaries.

It might well split republicans and hand Obama another term, but he’d get that against Romney anyway. So unless she splits the vote against a better republican, Obama’s in. Obama is going to be hard to beat regardless. Because the disatisfied looney left doesn’t have anyone else to go to, and the blacks are still for him.

I think Palin would pull more votes than Romney and it would send major shock waves through the Democrat Lite party of republicans.

And I think that it might just work.

Every conservative I know
would vote for Obama
before the backstabber Mitt Romney.

We will write in Gov. Palin before that.

Nice work, Red.

What most FReepers still captive to the Republican delusion don't understand is that the GOP nomination is worthless to Sarah Palin.

The defeated Romneyites, Pawlenty, Huckabee and Huntsman will endorse Obama (or Hillary), and the "Palin as Goldwater" strategy will succeed.

After Bachmann endorses Romney, this will be even more clear. It is ESSENTIAL for Sarah to run against Romney AND Obama, or Romney AND Hillary.

Running alone against Obama, with the defeated RINOs lukewarm or, worse, in opposition, won't work. Romney, and many others, will be validating Plouffe and Axelrod's main campaign themes for the MSM, either behind the scenes or outright (she's crazy, too stupid, etc, etc).Sarah's political people need to be very patient, to wait until the election crystallizes as "them against them", until "none of the above" is over 40% or 50% in the polls, and THEN (and only then) can the embryo campaign now being put together uncloak.

What an exciting time!

If Romney is the candidate, and I expect the Democrats will select him in the Republican primaries as they did McCain, then i would love to see Palin as Independent. Win or lose I would hope mightily that she would draw more votes than Romney. That would NOT kick some sense into the Republican party. That is an impossible project, but it might initiate the replacement of the Republican Party and the migration of the Republican Left and Stupid into the Democrat Party where they belong.
