I didn't use the word 'bad' - you did. I referred specifically to Ron Reagan, not Michael or Maureen, although Patti was a handful in her day. Ron went out of his way to oppose his father's conservative Republican politics, both during and after his famous father's presidency. Even now, Ron remains a very vocal liberal.
Bristol Palin conceived a child out of wedlock. That had to be embarrassing for her Christian parents, even though it was handled quite well. Now, Bristol is apparently planning to move into a house in L.A. to live with two men (brothers) and that situation will be used as the basis for a 'reality' TV show. I don't watch these types of shows but from what I've read, they seek conflict and that can get nasty. The fact that this young, unwed mother (and her baby) is moving in with two young men (presumably on a platonic basis), while perhaps considered 'normal' and benign in today's morality-free society, this must be a disappointment to her parents.
Does Bristol have 'a right' to pursue whatever opportunity she is presented with? Of course. Are her choices questionable? Yes. I don't give a rat's patoot what Bristol Palin does but as a supporter of Sarah Palin, I hate to see her headstrong daughter do things that I know the leftmedia will use to denigrate her mother. I half expect Bristol to start making noises about being a political liberal, any day now. However, that is every parents dilemma. You have to let 'the kids' grow up and be independent adults, even if they make poor decisions. This is such a case.
So the only reason that you have to compare Bristol with Ron Reagan, is that Bristol had premarital sex with her high school sweetheart.

Very well said. Anyone who would like to see Sarah Palin run for and win the presidency should realize that Bristol isn’t doing much to help her mother politically with these career moves. The opposition will use every possible means to destroy Sarah, including using the immature behavior of her adult daughter. And yes, I realize it’s Bristol’s “right” to make these decisions, but it’s my opinion that if she cared one bit about her mother, she’d do things differently.
Sometimes, acting in an adult manner means you don’t put money above your own family.
