European Democracies are on the wane; victims of their own arrogance, envy and elitist conceit veiled in altruism.
Come to think of it, sounds a lot like the current regime here.

I stopped listening to the country of my heritage when they elected Bernadette Devlin to parliament. Doesn’t take much to know why the Irish hate Sarah—take a look at the American Irish they like: all the Kennedys, Kerry (if indeed he’s at all Irish), Leahy, Kerry’s congressman-priest Drinan (who got disgraced Kerry into Boston College for a law degree that should have been denied him), the Dalys, Chrissie Matthews’ old boss, even O’Bama! Not that we haven’t had a few decent Irish (all the Buckleys but Chris, Ronald Reagan, Al Smith, Paul Ryan) but as a political lot—especially *over there*—they’re one big, bully union.

The Irish can never forgive us for giving them a home for the last 200 years. Whenever the English abused them, we allowed them to come to our shores. When they won independence, they still couldn't get their act right and we had to take them in. They flood the East Coast and take jobs. Or worse, their drunken exchange students hit San Diego and cause true havoc. I have NO use for them.
