America is the Greatest Nation.
It is our political philosophy that has shaped every Republic that followed.
It is the words of our Founders, like Jefferson, that have inspired freedom in the Declaration of Independence.
It is our Constitution that has been the model of many others, and is the longest current governing document in terms of years, and one of the shortest in words.
It is the history of this great Republic, when twice in the last century we have given so much in the cause of freedom - and never asked more for it than the ground to bury our honored dead.
In answer to your question about Israel when I said America was the greatest nation.....
We are a much greater nation than Israel. We have existed longer, their government is based upon ours, and it is our political ideology that gave rise to their own Republic
“”Founders, like Jefferson, that have inspired freedom””
From Jefferson...
Comparing them by their faculties of memory, reason, and imagination, it appears to me,that in memory they are equal to the whites; in reason much inferior, as I think one [black] could scarcely be found capable of tracing and comprehending the investigations of Euclid; and that in
imagination they are dull, tasteless, and anomalous. It would be unfair to follow them to Africa for this investigation. We will consider them here, on the same stage with the whites, and where
....The Indians, with no advantages of this kind, will
often carve figures on their pipes not destitute of design and merit. They will crayon out an animal, a plant, or a country, so as to prove the existence of a germ in their minds which only wants cultivation. They astonish you with strokes of the most sublime oratory; such as prove their
reason and sentiment strong, their imagination glowing and elevated. But never yet could I find that a black had uttered a thought above the level of plain narration;

You call this promotion of freedom?
I have work to do.You can worship Jefferson by yourself if you wish
Recognition of the impact Jefferson made upon history is not “worship” you bootlicking Monarchist.
I am not a Monarchist or a US Constitution worshopper either.
I have said here on FR that a Catholic Monarchy and even Christian Democracy as expressed by Pope Leo XIII would be better than what we currently have here in the US
All that matters to me is that Catholic doctrine is upheld by a State. There would be no legal Abortion,Pornagraphy etc.. In a modern Catholic state legal sin would not exist
A state that allows legal sin has no idea what real freedom is
Reflect carefully the words of the Late Bishop Fulton Sheen..
“There are three definitions of freedom: two of them are false, and one is true. The first false definition is “Freedom is the right to do whatever I please.” This is the liberal doctrine of freedom, which reduces freedom to a physical, rather than to a moral, power. Of course we are free to do whatever we please: for example, we can turn a machine gun on our neighbor’s chickens, or drive an automobile on the sidewalk, or stuff a neighbor’s mattress with used razor bladesbut ought we to do these things? This kind of freedom, in which everyone is allowed to seek his own benefit, produces confusion. There is no liberalism of this particular kind without a world of conflicting egotisms, where no one is willing to submerge himself for the common good. In order to overcome this confusion of everyone’s doing whatever he pleases, there arose the second false definition of freedom, namely, “Freedom is the right to do whatever you must.” This is totalitarian freedom, which was developed in order to destroy individual freedom for the sake of society. Engels, who with Marx wrote the Philosophy of Communism, said: “A stone is free to fall because it must obey the law of gravitation.” So man is free in Communist society because he must obey the law of the dictator.
The true concept of freedom is “Freedom is the right to do whatever we ought,” and ought implies goal, purpose, morality, and the law of God. True freedom is within the law, not outside it. I am free to draw a triangle, if I give it three sides, but not, in a stroke of broad-mindedness, fifty-seven sides. I am free to fly on condition that I obey the law of aeronautics. In the spiritual realm, I am also most free when I obey the law of God.”- Fulton J Sheen

If you advocate Monarchy as a political system, and you do, you are a Monarchist.
We are not a Catholic nation and not likely to be any time soon. We are a nation of religious liberty - mostly Protestant. The sort of people you say are invincibly ignorant or serve their master Satan.
Reflect on the words of the soon to be late Bishop Charlie Sheen.
“DUH WINNING!”
What we’ve got today is a banana republic with ever expanding governments, incapable of any meaningful reform.
That is one view. Where is it any better?
Where on Earth is there a greater nation?
I am reminded of a quote by Ronald Reagan in “The Speech”....
Not too long ago, two friends of mine were talking to a Cuban refugee, a businessman who had escaped from Castro, and in the midst of his story one of my friends turned to the other and said, “We don’t know how lucky we are.” And the Cuban stopped and said, “How lucky you are? I had someplace to escape to.” And in that sentence he told us the entire story. If we lose freedom here, there’s no place to escape to. This is the last stand on earth.
Perhaps you should understand what prides is...
“Pride is an admission of weakness; it secretly fears all competition and dreads all rivals.” Fulton J Sheen on Pride
It’s the reason you seem to be angry in many of your posts
I am not angry.
I am saddened. I will pray for you. Friend.

It’s impossible to argue against rah-rah patriotism. In any country on the planet there are people who think theirs is the greatest nation, let’s not kid ourselves. But any democracy is better than the one where 67% of the populace is against a piece of legislation, and that piece is passed and signed nonetheless. (ObamaCare.)
The Swiss, for example, have the ability to call for a referendum to rescind any legislation passed by their parliament.
What we have today is a dictatorship, if not of the proletariat, then of a self-selected semi-permanent electoriat.
So Switzerland is a greater nation - due to their ability to have a referendum to rescind any legislation? Good criteria.
In a Republic - public opinion is not the end all be all. That is why we are NOT a democracy.
Obamacare will not be implemented or survive long as the law of the land so long as over 50% of the people are actively against it.
That is the beauty of a Republic - someone can take a stand against public opinion - and if they are shown to be right within the electoral time frame - they will be rewarded with re-election.
If someone takes a stand against public opinion - and they are shown to be wrong wrong horribly wrong within the electoral time frame - they will be thrown out of office and their legislation overturned.
What we have now is a Free Republic- but with 54% of people willing to vote for a demagogue charlatan con-man. But the wool seems to be falling from many an eye.
I couldn’t name a single country that has a “democracy” as defined by you and all the promoters of a “Republic”. That U.S. is a “Republic” while others aren’t is nothing but a myth. A difference without distinction. (And I have checked that definition with citizens of other countries, making a fool of myself in the process.) If you are referring to the referenda, as signs of a democracy as opposed to a “Republic”, then keep in mind that most of U.S. states have them as well.
I said I liked the referendum - it is still as part of a Republic - it is a public check upon the power of their elected Representatives. Here in California, the citizens can actually write legislation and get it passed in a public referendum.
But I still am pro-Republic - because of the ability for an informed LEADER to not follow the cries of the crowd. Cooler heads can prevail over the passions of the mob.
Certainly, we are all in favor of a Republic, but when so many legislators stand up in unison against the prevailing public sentiment, as in the ObamaCare vote, then what have we got, is that how a Republic is supposed to work? I honestly don’t know. You think it’ll be defeated (OC)? I think the RATS knew that once such a monster is passed (see Social Security, see Welfare), then it becomes impossible to rescind, it can only be “reformed”, and heaven help us with the “reforms” we have seen.
Yes - that is EXACTLY how a Republic is supposed to work - as I have been saying. 0bama and the Dems took a gamble that sentiment wouldn't run against 0bamacare long enough or strong enough to cost them in the next election - or that they would sway enough people to their side on that or other issues by the time of the election.
It is up to us to make that gamble NOT pay off.
But in a Republic the entire point is to have qualified people in charge. The mob is NOT qualified to make a sensible decision in the heat of the moment considering long term ramifications and laws and alliances and history or principles. Neither are most of the Yale Harvard lawyer morons we seem to elect year after year.
Their knowledge and philosophy of such is quite underdeveloped.
And now we have “amateur hour” at 1600 Pennsylvania St.
