Good post. One other point - I think adults should be able to take most risks they feel like taking provided it doesn't endanger others or encumber others with the costs of the results.

But having said that, if I decided that in order to feel 'alive' I needed to climb into the Octagon with Chuck Liddel I would expect people to question my sense of judgment, let alone my intelligence.
