First of all I don’t know of any school that actually has a “civics” class, let alone what textbooks would be used for one. I had U.S. History, World History, and Social Studies classes where we learned about and discussed the constitution, but never a civics class. As I stated before my teachers used the constitution, and related papers for our discussions about the constitution, not textbooks.

Furthermore, none of the textbooks I had for history and Social Studies classes ever addressed the definition of “natural born citizen”. in fact most didn’t even mention the constitution other than just in passing. My own children have never had a “civics” class either, just history and social studies classes where the constitution was discussed. Their textbooks don’t even mention the clause, and one of them doesn’t even mention the Constitution.

You are the one who made the claim that ALL the civics textbooks for the last 100 years say something different, so why don’t you list all the civics textbooks that actually address the “natural born citizenship” clause for us.

I personally don’t have time to do that much research, but if you can provide us with a list I am sure there are others besides me who would be willing to read through some of the books on your list and see exactly what they say with regard to the definition of “natural born citizen”. Perhaps you could just start with a list of one civics textbook published in each of the last 100 years (1910 through 2010).

I usually read one book each evening before I go to bed so even if no one else wants do help with the reading, I could still probably read through all 100 of them in less than a year if I can obtain a copy of each the books. I have a limited budget, so it would be helpful if you could also let me know which libraries have copies of the civics textbooks.

This has to be the best threads I’ve ever seen on this issue. Tons of research is revealed on it.

Fine. Show me an example of any textbook in any field that deals with constitutional issues, civics, history, social studies, or law, that defines natural born citizenship as you claim it is defined.
