I think Sarah Palin will make not only an excellent domestic POTUS, but one of the best foreign policy leaders and CinCs we have ever had.

I strongly disagree. She's nowhere near ready for the job. Good intentions and nice principles are important, but not nearly enough.

I like both - and have no problem admitting that.

I hate huck, romney, et al and like Palin, Thune, Jindal, and Christie.

My heart is with Sarah 100% and you should look at some of my posts about her on other threads as the poster Onyx can attest.

One thing i would suggest, and i am being constructive, is ndont alienate your friends, and believe me I am 100% on the Sarah bandwagon, for whatever she does.

If she runs, she has my efforts, money, etc. in the primaries and the general. If not, I am going with Thune.

I don’t see anything remotely anti-sarah about that.

RE :”You can love Palin without wanting her to be president (Journolist Alert)

Try this :No if you cannot. If you cant accept, no, if you cannot welcome her as the next president then you are the enemy and must be eliminated. This nation only has one hope, just one, and that is if we can convince her to run. If she doesn't we are doomed. And you are one of the biggest roadblocks in this country. Bring back burnings for blasphemy

I am just taking the place of that young conservative freeper from that midwest state who is taking a break. I miss his postings and the shoes are big :)

What else does she need that she doesn’t have, or can’t obtain?

So you are joining us in promoting Palin to run in 2012?

We can count on you dropping this “I love her but” stuff?

“Palin, Huckabee Top Choice for U.S. Republicans
August 06, 2010
(Angus Reid Global Monitor) - American supporters of the Republican Party pick former presidential hopefuls Sarah Palin and Mike Huckabee as favourites to represent the GOP in the 2012 election, according to a poll by Angus Reid Public Opinion. 51 per cent of respondents say Palin would be a good president, up four points since November 2009.

Huckabee is second on the list of politicians deemed capable for the job with 50 per cent, followed by former Massachusetts governor Mitt Romney and former New York mayor Rudy Giuliani both with 48 per cent, former speaker of the House of Representatives Newt Gingrich with 42 per cent—up 14 points—and former secretary of state Condoleezza Rice with 38 per cent. Support is lower for Louisiana governor Bobby Jindal, Texas congressman Ron Paul, Minnesota governor Tim Pawlenty, former New Mexico governor Gary Johnson, and Republican National Committee (RNC) chairman Michael Steele.”

I just ignore the people who go over the line. But I do not think saying that someone is acting/exaggrating is to far. The multiple photos may be another story, for me the jury is still out.

I’m for Sarah now, in 2010, in 2012, etc.

I will try to get her elected, but if she decides not to run for some reason, who will you support?

Staying home is not an option and we must oust the communists no matter what.

concern troll

In an argument (usually a political debate), a concern troll is someone who is on one side of the discussion, but pretends to be a supporter of the other side with “concerns”.

The idea behind this is that your opponents will take your arguments more seriously if they think you’re an ally. Concern trolls who use fake identities are sometimes known as sockpuppets.

In the 2006 election, an aide to Congressman Charlie Bass (R-NH) was caught concern trolling the opposition on local blogs. While pretending to support Bass’s opponent, Paul Hodes, the aide argued that Hodes couldn’t win because Bass was an unbeatable candidate. Hodes won the election.

There was a lot of buzz about the various Obot online posting tactics before the ‘08 election .. this is one of them, but there’s more.

What else does she need that she doesn’t have, or can’t obtain?

Right now she has not:

1) Demonstrated the sort of intellectual bona fides needed to establish herself as more than just a pretty face. To make the point, compare her speeches to Reagan's at the same point in life (e.g., this one) and you'll see the difference. Palin's speeches and writings are dismally shallow by comparison. There's little in them to suggest that she understands the underlying principles well enough to lead by them when confronted by challenging circumstances.

2) She does not have executive experience beyond her abortive half-term as governor, and mayor of Wasilla. And the latter can't be taken seriously as a qualification for POTUS.

Palin can perhaps "obtain" both, given time.

If she works hard, writes serious articles, and makes serious speeches in important places, she can change the current perception of her as a lightweight.

Getting the needed experience is going to be much more difficult -- probably impossible at this point.

Thanks for your thoughtful reply.

There aren’t many Ronald Reagans, unfortunately. I can’t think of **any** politican on **either** side that would compare well in that litmus test you have set up for Ms. Palin.

Suppose instead you compare Sarah Palin’s speeches and intellectual capabilities with, say, recent president George W Bush.

Did you think W Bush was a satisfactory president, especially in foreign policy? Did he have the experience he needed as a weak governor of the state of Texas?

Another question of a different sort. If not Sarah Palin, then who would you *like* to see as (R) candidate for POTUS? Why?

Thanks, and FRegards

Tip of the iceberg:

If Republicans reject Sarah Palin, we don’t deserve to win

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-chat/2564670/posts

If the Republican party rejects Sarah Palin, they are rejecting the tea party conservatives and middle America.

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-chat/2564670/posts?page=33#33

By picking Palin, McCain saved conservatism.

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/chat/2539839/posts?page=22#22

Most importantly: she’s the only one brave enough to speak out on highly contentious issues (such as calling Gore out on “Climategate.”)

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/2531725/posts

I will crawl over broken glass to vote for Sarah Palin!!Stupid man that I am..I love being controlled by women!!!

If it isn’t obvious to you by now, Sarah is the ONLY one who can unseat Obama.

Palin is the ONLY one with the chance of beating Barack Obama.

It is obvious that Sarah Palin is the only one who can defeat Obama and that we need to be united around her!

Palin is the only one who can beat Obamsky and if we fail to nominate her we lose.

Gov. Palin is the only one out there who could take down Obama.

Sarah is the ONLY one in position to restore our Republic.

Exhibit #11, your honor, demonstrating once more that these folks, who call themselves conservatives, are in fact, a cult.

I have heard of them. But seems to me if this particular concern troll you speak of likes Thune more than Palin, yet has stated he still will be happy to support Palin if she wins the nomination, that should be satisfactory.

Yet I have been trying to prove my accusation of “concern troll” and that Thune bit is part of that. The contradictions support my claim, that is why I worded that post as I did.
