I take it that, if American troops come under sniper fire in Iraq, that you advocate going into Iraqi neighborhoods, burning their homes and killing a few women and children.Sherman did not target women and children nor even rebel soldiers in his sniper order. He targeted secessionists, enemies of the peace of the nation who generally had no problem sending other Southerners to their death while they increased their wealth at home. To take the war to those people for a change was a just thing.

So it was ok to burn homes over the heads of undefended women, children, the elderly, both black and white? To leave them to die of starvation and exposure? That is a coward's war. If you want the succession leaders than man up, do your homework and seek them out. Don't turn a gang of criminals loose on the weak, then not have enough guts to own up to it.

He targeted secessionists, enemies of the peace of the nation Oh please. Your Saint Shermy did no such thing.
If they lived in the South his rabble targeted them.

You don't really want to go there, do you?
To take the war to those people for a change was a just thing.
So you do advocate targeting women and children in America's current wars.
