This would be impossible as I dont think the military would back him on this. And he we definitely need their support for it.
Donning my tinfoil hat for a moment, I can completely imagine China cutting off our loan supply early 2011 and demanding payment on the majority of the debt we have accrued with them. Once that doesn't happen, they demand infrastructure as "collateral" on the payments, sending in Chinese military under the guise of inspectors and security to protect their investments.

This sounds like the new “Red Dawn” movie. Then again, the fact that they didn’t need to build sets for a dilapidated war zone, only set it in Detroit, means we’re closer to that reality than is comfortable.

I don’t think they are in a position to demand anythng. Especially infrastructure. They have to sell their securities on the market I believe or even if they cash them in they would have to accept dollars.
