Absolutely!
I think you're finally ready to run for high office.
You must be one of those contemptible Southern Rebels or one of those contemptible Damn Yankees.
I suppose it depends on your perspective. Perhaps it’s a little too late....
Does a brother need to go fishing? I can hook you up.
Shouldn’t this be in Breaking News? ;-)
What kind of half-ass “stand” is this? Stop dodging the question already - would you hit Mrs. Lincoln or not? She does become available at war’s end, after all...
Will be interesting to see how many folks make it through post #4.
At least your never alone....
Be sure to notify Jim R....
Little early in the week for this, too.
"Sounds like somebody's got a case of the Mondays!"
“It was a tie. And they named the new country, ‘Tie-land.’”
Alright, enough of this trivial stuff. I want to know the answer to the burning question of our time - who’s stronger, the Thing or the Hulk?
Best Civil War thread EVER.
It depends.
Y'see.
Now, you forced our hand.
Sorry, but grits really suck.
I stand FIRMLY with my position. I mean EXACTLY what I say. I WILL NOT WAVER! I WILL CARRY THE BANNER TRUE!!!!
Moved to Texas since 1979. Am I allowed to live?

As far as the west, it was part of human existence throughout recorded history until certain religious dissenters in England began speaking out against it. This filtered down to the colonies, and at the point of our Constitutional Convention, it was acknowledged by some Founders as inherently in opposition to the ideals of our nascent nation. The matter was not addressed because the economies of agrarian, southern States were highly dependent upon it.
One Founder, George Mason, a Virginian and slaveholder himself, predicted either war or the end of the Republic over slavery; he did so before the Constitution was ever ratified. Mason was prescient. We got the war, and arguably got the destruction of the original ideals of the Republic in the bargain. It was a sad conflict that was foreseen by many and in many ways was destined to happen.
My own ancestors were almost entirely on the Confederate side of the conflict. Very few of them owned slaves. They went to war believing they were defending hearth and home from invasion.
Sorry to throw a wet blanket on the hyperbolic fun.
As you were, continue on, lol.
Poop-disturber.
