If I was then I'd just add it to the long list of problems we have. But I'm not calling you anything, that's a Lost Causer tactic. Merely pointing out that this gratitude that you claim the South felt for the service of any blacks that served in confederate ranks manifested itself in some very odd ways. I could not care less what your opinion of anyone is - me, blacks, any group you care to name. I'm not saying you're racist. I'm not saying that you're the poster child for the NAACP. I'm not interested either way. What I am doing is refuting the ridiculous notion that black service was appreciated by their confederate compatriots. Considering how they were treated in the 100 years following the rebellion that much should be self-evident.
I am not in the mood to exchange with a clairvoyant who knows that nobody in the South was grateful for the service of confed. blacks during the War of Northern Aggression. Cleary, my expressing gratititude in no way reflects the feelings of those that lived 140+ yrs ago. I will not claim to know that.
