“First off, you’re holding out the specious position that the only two choices for those held in bondage in the South, was slavery or death. Clearly, obviously, untrue.”

You are putting words in my mouth with this statement. Never a wise point from which to argue. You know not my views on the origins of slavery nor my views on the institution itself.

Speaking of "never wise," it's generally unwise to deny your own quotes. Here is a direct quote of what you said: The moral issue of slavery vs death is the root of the compassionate argument. Which is more compassionate slavery or death? That is a question each man must answer for himself.

That's a binary question, son -- one that is based on specious premises.

You know not my views on the origins of slavery nor my views on the institution itself.

But I do know that you persisted in taking a truly rancid position. Whether or not you "like" slavery, your logical position is untenable at best.
