When hubby came to live here, he’d always ask “Who the hell was that?” if somebody waved and I’d answer “Beats me. Wave back”....:)

Marfa has the 'mystery lights,' and Fort Davis has the high ground (and the fort named after Secretary of War Jefferson Davis). Check out McDonald Observatory ( http://mcdonaldobservatory.org/ ) online, they're just uphill from the town of Fort Davis, and located where they are because of the dark skies (i.e., not many people). Really nice folks in the area, during our time there a few years back. Alpine is also nice, a few more hills than Marfa, but not so many as Fort Davis. (For anyone interested - I always figured a micro-brewery could do well with Alpine Pale Ale, Marfa Light, and Fort Davis Dark! ;>)
