NS has not understood that we have a thing called private message where one can talk to someone via private message and one can ask questions like do you mind me posting it.

Matter of opinion. There’s a lot I can subscribe to and some that I think he misses on. Regardless, it was his work and he deserved credit. Some poor Southron fool might wanted innocently onto the thread and think manc wrote it.

NS recognizes cover-your-butt BS when he sees it.

what’s really pathetic is that some of us I know I don’t reply to him/her even if he/she sends about 5 posts to me a day.

When you ask questions too hard for manc to answer then his usual response is to pretend they don't exist.

I deserve better, I deserve real freedom. I recognize the farce that the Federal Govt. has become. I have given up on sentimentality. Because I want better doesn’t mean I hate anything. Please, don’t compare me to Maj. Randolph, I am unworthy.

Runaway ego and phony modesty all in one post. Impressive, even for you.

No ego, just reality. The republic is dead. Jefferson, Washington and Madison, if alive, would probably agree IMO. I doubt they would be in your camp.

< fantasy >

I would like to make a fantasy movie where somehow the founders were reanimated. I want to see the look on Jefferson's face when the "new Deal" was explained to him. Wickard v. Filburn would kill Madison.

Go ahead. If Lost Causers excel at nothing else it's fantasy.

AMNESTY FLASHBACK: In defence of the secessionist traitors… (5/7/09)

The liberal media continues to misunderstand the Tea Party movement and its insistence that the government return to its Constitutional roots.

by Michael Naragon

The following letter was written by the author in response to a column in The Covington (Ga.) News on May 6, 2009 (http://www.covnews.com/news/article/6961/) :

Mr. Shipp,

I believe you’re right. If Mr. [Rick] Perry and Mr. [John] Oxendine have explored the notion of seceding from the United States, they are rebels and traitors. And their names should become synonymous with others who are or were like-minded: Jefferson, Washington, Franklin, Adams.

You used several names to demagogue those who have even suggested secession: “wacko,” “nuts,” “crazy,” “troublemakers,” and “haters.” Similar terms might have been used by more articulate Tory columnists about our Founding Fathers.

I realize that you’re in the newspaper business, and drumming up traffic for your failing paper is part of your job. But if you are going to troll, at least be historically accurate.

This secession movement is not a re-enactment of the Civil War, although a case can be made that the conditions now are very similar to those in the Antebellum years.

If anything, the secession sentiment espoused by what you would call a lunatic fringe is more akin to the philosophies of our Framers who, after numerous attempts at reconciliation with an oppressive government, took upon themselves the mantle of revolutionaries to etch out a free Republic.

This movement, as much as repetitive columnists and liberal blog sites would like to frame it, is not about President Obama. Many of those who are upset with their distant government began their intellectual journey long before our current administration assumed power.

It is not that those who entertain the “fantasy” of secession wish to leave the United States. These men are not traitors, as you would paint them to be. The real traitor is a federal government that has abandoned the Constitutional principles that it was founded upon. A federal government that has taken far more power than the “rebels” of 1776 ever intended it to have. A federal government that seeks to maintain its power indefinitely by legalizing millions (of the votes) of currently illegal aliens. A federal government that wishes to subvert the jurisdiction of the Constitution and the Second Amendment by passing the CIFTA treaty. A federal government that irresponsibly continues to spend the futures of our next generations in order to preserve and grow its own reach and strength.

Those who would hint at secession are loyal to the United States, Mr. Shipp. They are loyal to the United States as outlined in our founding documents. They are loyal to the United States that you apparently fought for and that millions of Americans died for. It is an insult to their memories to allow our United States to be transformed into something they would fail to recognize. Every effort should be made to keep that from happening.

However, if the government remains unpersuaded and persists on its present course of inevitable bankruptcy and downfall, the patriotic thing to do would be to preserve its memory in a living form, to rebuild the nation our Founding Fathers would be proud to have bequeathed to us and to our posterity.

In defence of our federalist Republic,

Michael Naragon

the far left have been planning this for years that I have no doubt what they did not count on is the states fighting back.

We have to get power back form them as if we do not then he will be able ot put more judges on that court and I just pray to God that the 5 of them hold out until we get that power and the white house and overturn all of this crap.

another thing

many around here are now saying that their Govt is in Tallahasse and not DC and even those who do not follow politics much are pissed off at how they are grabbing power and forcing their agenda

Not saying we are going leave the union before the troll sends me another 5 posts of which he knows I don’;t bother replying and giving attention to him but having read hundreds of memoirs from back before the war the views are very similar.

I just hope we can hold out , the GOP gets some balls and we can overturn all this crap plus make it so that the far left will not come back like, they have and back in the 20’s

THe GOP "Establishment" hasn't smelled the coffee yet...

You can dissent against the Federales at the same time support your state govt. I guess some around here can't grip that concept (it's called a republic)

Federal apologist, Non-Sense. This is no longer a Free Country and it hasn't been for some time now. You would be well served by leaving your parents basement once every blue moon.

Remaining in 'Union' with people like yourself and your boy, Obama, is in fact Slavery.

Not knowing what dog you have in this fight makes it hard to paint an accurate picture. I'm going to say Virgina is correct. You are retired from the Navy and receiving a Government retirement. I ,personally, don't care. Sucking on Government handouts is obviously an acquired taste that you and yours have grown to like. Thanks but, no thanks.

Let Dixie be!

leave the parents basement
would that mean he’d stop posting to me even though I never reply to him

it’s one thing being wrong and making a fool of ones self but talking to someone knowing they do not reply back is insane or in desperate attention mind

There are no black confederate soldiers buried in St. Augustine. Contrary to the simple minded hillbillies you choose to associate with, confederate musicians were never issued weapons which is a requisite for being a soldier.

Have you actually done the research you arrogantly demand of others? If you had you'd know that all three black confederates buried in St. Augustine were musicians who played the drums or blew a bugle. Do some research and you'd find out what standard issue was for confederate musicians as well as the fact that it was a role reserved for 'boys', not men. They weren't given weapons and they weren't allowed to fight. They weren't soldiers in any meaningful way unless you choose to twist the objective truth to fit the circumstance.

You don't seem to be a bad sort Manc, but your choice of associates at FR leaves a lot to be desired. You're hanging with the southern backwash to put it mildly.
