“In England, and English colonies and commonwealths, they typically date things: dd/mm/yyyy.” True, but on a hunch, when this was first released, I may have been the first person to find on the Wiki international date format page that Kenya is one of the few countries in the world that was listed as regularly using BOTH formats.
The original source data (from memory) came from IBM software manuals that were used to set up computer software formats by country around the world.
An Obot named Mystylplx immediately edited the Wiki page, but was reversed and locked for a time, but now all specific references to Kenya using two formats have disappeared from the text of the page except for the world map, which may have been harder for the Obot scrubbers to edit.
Kenya is still color-coded purple on the world map as a dual format country at this site:

There is a ready explanation for two formats in the fact that Kenya, when founded, was formed by the merger of two separate legal entities, Kenya Colony and Coast Province, which may well have used two different formats in their separate clerical cultures.

Note all are spelled HELTON. Number one (#1) also has complete DIFFERENT spelling of Helton Maganga’s last name as “Muganga”.
In Swahili names are spelled out phonetically. You’ll find that in many places in Africa there is no standard spelling for names, especially when Swahili word and names are spelled out with the Indo-European alphabet. Swahili never had a written form of it’s language until Arabs taught Swahili speakers to spell out Swahili in Arabic and then later when Europeans taught Swahili speakers to spell out Swahili in the Indo-European alphabet.
In any case we now see that Great Kim’s aka Mik Taerg’s claims of there only being ONE (1) source for the spelling of HELTON is totally without merit (yet is typical of any claim that Great Kim aka Mik Taerg has ever put out in his quest for recoginition).

And yes, “Mystylplx” (user name on youtube and wikipedia) did scrub wikipedia so that it would not reflect Kenya’s use of both date formats. I believe that the color coded map still remains as showing Kenya as using for date formats. The data for Kenyan date format was on Wikipedia long before I ever heard of Obama.

Good catch on Mystylplx editing Wikipedia to try and hide the fact that Kenya uses both little endian and middle endian date formats.
I edited that entry as user ‘FuPeg’ and changed it back on Sep 9 2009 There is a small exchange on the ‘discussion’ page between myself, Mytlyplx and another user or two.
