Yes indeed, their arrogance and love for evil blind them to the yawning chasm right before their steps.
Sometimes the laws of the universe allows them to play for a while, just so they are completely befooled.
Then, the hammer of as you sow, you reap/karma kicks them very thoroughly. At that point, crying “Uncle” will do nothing to stop the punishment. No insider connections will help. In fact, such connections only increase the pain they will have to endure.
