That is the point of all that logical fallacy stuff. The “ad hominem” argument thingy. If Ted Kennedy, who I could not stand, said, “Gee, there’s this COLB and the birth announcements” -—it isn’t any less true. If Weasel Waxman said it, it would still make sense.
If Paul “Puke” Begala said it. Same deal. And even one of my all time least favorite shills “Sidney Blumenthal” said it, it would not matter, if it were either true, or made sense.
And, most birther threads? I stay off of them. Too depressing sometimes watching what passes for birther logic. There’s one or tow right now where it is sheer stark-raving nuts. I can’t believe you guys (and gals) are falling for some of the poop you’re falling for on these two threads. I truly suspect that one of the threads was started by someone from DU just to upload and laugh at you.
Other times, though, you guys camper around in a zany fashion and the insanity is fun.
Now was that a bad thing for me to say? Probably. But I didn’t insult you personally. I didn’t call you names. It was sarcastic, true. But I didn’t go look you up to personalize it. I didn’t run go tell JR or the mods.
And while we’re on JR. Believe it or not me and several other freepers actually sat down and had lunch with him once. I don’t know whether he remembers me or not. He meets a lot of people. I thanked him for not kicking me off after becoming a democrat and for my progressiver views on economics. As I recall, he said he understood and that many southern democrats were like that. Conservative on most things, but haters of big business, and Wall Street stuff. Hey, that’s me.
And one very hurtful thing you guys said, that really p*ssed me off—was calling me a “Libertarian”—That’s sinking pretty low in my book.
