Let me add to this.

What BuckT is talking about is temporary paper plates aka dealer plates, that are not nor ever could be actual registration of title by the purchaser.

Sorry BuckT, but there are no applications for dealer/temp certs for births.

Bullsh*t. I titled cars with real plates and tags and was an authorized title clerk and notary for the State of Texas. I signed the titlework, the odometer statements, the bill of sale, all of it. I even worked in the county’s title office when they were short clerks. The county borrowed me from the dealership.

Paper dealer tags are given out by freaking salesmen on the salesfloor.

You don’t know jacksh*t about what you’re talking about.
