True. But O Sr didn’t abuse Dunham. I’ve read just about every article on them, him, his wives, his tribe, his family, et al. I don’t think he ever even lived with Dunham.
The abuse started after he went back to Kenya. It was one of the things that surfaced more than a few times in other peoples’ recollections of him, including Kezia’s.
She said she stayed with him specifically because he never hit her, although she didn’t like his womanizing and drinking.
It was his third wife, Ruth, that he abused, but what that abuse consisted of, I don’t know. He was a full fledged drunken loser at that point.
