I’ve tended to stay away from the purely birth certificate related threads, because I believe the Constitutional question of eligibility has already been answered, by Obama’s own admissions upon information and belief, and the circumstance of his birth to an alien father.
But, that “African” on the computer generated, database driven document from Hawaii, does jump out. There are standards for terminology, varying by jurisdiction certainly, but such a thing is not thrown about willy-nilly. So, there’s meaning to be gleaned from this oddity, imho.
To me, the meaning very well could be that there is a source document that the database has drawn upon, that contains the term. And, the term plausibly points to a British colonial origin. Immediate assumption would be Kenya, but that may not be correct, as there are other, former British colonies, in Obama’s past.
agreed. I have been researching the colonial background on this thread, scoll through, may find something of interest:

Thanks to a heads-up from a commenter and as a follow up to a previous posting of mine from back in 2008, Cleveland/Akron, Ohio-based KYC.com broke the story that Mr. Obamas aunt, Zeituni Onyango (who has been living illegally in Boston, MA) claims that Mr. Obama was born in Honolulu, Hawaii:
Onyango proudly remembers attending the swearing in ceremony with her mother, Sarah Obama, the Presidents paternal grandmother in 2005, as Barack became a U.S. senator. Home video shows them both in full African dress at a celebration party shortly afterwards.
She talks about the current controversy over the President Obamas citizenship.
Barack was born in Honolulu, Hawaii. Ann (Obamas mother) never stepped foot on Kenyan soil, Onyango says defiantly.
