Yes, you can get Ibuprofen over the counter, in up to 200 mg doses, but of course they can't restrict how many you take at once. The most popular brand names are Advil and Motrin, but it's generally available as a "house brand" generic at pharmacies and grocery stores, and most anywhere over the counter medicines are sold "Dollar General", "Family Dollar", etc. Usually one of the brand names can be found at convenience stores that also sell gasoline.
I can only take it for a couple of days at the label recommended dosage, until it eats up my stomach and gives me the Mother of all Heartburn. Prescription doses are even worse, requiring antacids or at lest milk/cheese etc.
Thank you for you post.
I havent had any side effects from taking Ibuprofen (600 mg) thank goodness. It doesnt seem to bother me in any way.
I also dont abuse it. I only take it when something really, really hurts and it is all I can think of when the hurt crowds out everything else from my mind.
I will immediately take one should I stupidly stub my toe for example. That keeps me from having to take more after the fact. I nip it in the bud so to speak.
