Wow. I truly don’t know. But your thoughts seem to reflect my notes from the Larie Roth show and I hadn’t even written them yet, and the show hadn’t been broadcast yet. That is creepy.
One more thing. While searching around the web this afternoon, I came across reference to a Bill introduced by Don Nickles, OK, Sen. Inhope, OK, and Mary Landrieu in 2004 granting all the rights of natural born citizens (including running for president) to children adopted, or born, offshore to American parents. I have no idea whether it passed, but the date tells me that there has been a movement for some time to undermine the natural born citizen clause.
I think that it is imperative that Congress pass a law requiring proof of “natural born citizen status” before a name can go on the ballot. If Congress can’t, or won’t, do so, then the States would have to. You wouldn’t need all of them — just a few because nobody could win the election unless his/her name appeared on all ballots.
