Do you see anything particularly uncommon about the quilt, or the typewriter?
The location of the brown smudge is definitely different.
The typewriter, no, though psychologically, it probably makes the “montage” more effective at making the brain believe. The quilt, yes. It’s a very distinctive color and pattern. That gets me stuck without a viable explanation.
The smudge location is puzzling. Its definitely right on the word “maiden” in the “earlier” version. I didn’t notice the different location, only that the “new” pics have it much lighter. Hmmmm.
