Excellent summary. The more people read the many cases which affirm the court's unwavering understanding of natural born citizenship, the more helpful they'll be explaining it to others. I would have suggested that he/she read John Marshall's concurring decision in The Venus, 12 U.S. 253, where Marshall restates the definition, and cites the source, Vattel’s law of nations.

Tech Ed has been around for quite a few years. I find it hard to believe someone bent on misdirection would hang around for so long. I haven't counted how many times he/she comes back with the same misunderstanding, which does suggest that it isn't misunderstanding. Whatever the case, thanks for the excellent summation of Wong Kim Ark, a case which, as you know, is often used to claim just the opposite conclusion about natural born citizen.

I’ve just read about half of 12 U.S. 253, and I cannot see the relevancy of that case to natural-born citizenship. What am I missing?
