Let’s just say I no longer trust web images of nonpaper, electronically stored documents - or any documents, really. That is up to a court of law.

I was suggesting looking at a copy of the newspaper at a library that would have copies of the newspaper the announcement would have been printed in. Are you saying that was found but appeared to have been altered? If that is the cause the "tracking information", including the date the microfilm was generated would be interesting. Someone could have replaced the library's copy but it doesn't seem likely.

This, however, seems to indicate you are actually referring to a, more recent, "found" newspaper clipping, instead of one found on microfilm,.... please clarify.
